ABLIC Introduces High-Precision Automotive Shunt Reference IC with ±0.1% Accuracy

manufacturing-news

ABLIC Inc has announced the release of its S-19760/1 Series automotive shunt reference ICs, delivering ±0.1% output voltage accuracy and a temperature coefficient of ±20ppm/°C — among the best performance levels currently available in the industry based on company research as of February 2026.

The new series is designed primarily as a reference voltage source for A/D converters that transform analog sensor signals into digital data. High-accuracy reference voltages are critical in automotive systems, particularly in EV and HEV inverters where sensors continuously monitor current, voltage and motor angle to ensure precise motor control.

The S-19760/1 Series maintains stable output even in demanding temperature environments, supporting accurate sensor signal conversion. An integrated filter circuit enables ultra-low output noise of 28µVrms (at 2.048V output), reducing measurement errors during digital conversion.

The S-19761 variant supports a maximum shunt current of 30mA, allowing a single IC to serve multiple circuits. This helps reduce component count, optimize board space and lower overall system costs. The series is available in the standard SOT-23-3 package as well as the ultra-compact HSNT-8(1616)B package measuring 1.6mm × 1.6mm × 0.41mm, supporting space-constrained automotive designs. The devices undergo three-temperature testing and are being prepared to meet AEC-Q100 automotive reliability standards, with PPAP compliance planned.

ABLIC Inc is a Japan-based analog semiconductor specialist focused on the development of compact, low-power and high-precision integrated circuits for a wide range of applications. The company traces its technological roots back to 1968, when it contributed to the development of CMOS ICs used in the world’s first practical quartz watches, establishing a strong foundation in precision analog design.

Formerly part of the SEIKO Group, ABLIC became an independent company in 2018 under its current name. Since then, it has continued to expand its product portfolio across consumer electronics, mobile devices, automotive systems and healthcare equipment. Its solutions are widely used in power management, voltage reference, battery protection, sensor signal conditioning and timing applications.

ABLIC places strong emphasis on reliability, energy efficiency and miniaturization, qualities that are increasingly critical in modern electronic and automotive designs. The company’s automotive products are developed to meet stringent quality and safety requirements, supporting advanced driver assistance systems, electrified powertrains and vehicle control electronics.

In April 2020, ABLIC joined the MinebeaMitsumi Group, strengthening its global reach and manufacturing capabilities. Guided by its “Small, Smart, Simple” philosophy, ABLIC continues to deliver precision analog semiconductor solutions that enable innovation and enhance everyday life worldwide.
