ABB, a leading technology leader, has recently released its Sustainability Report 2020 that lays out the impact of the company and its solutions on the environment and the communities it serves. It also highlights ABB’s contribution to more sustainable development.
In 2010, ABB had adopted the sustainability strategy and 2020 marks the end of the decade of its sustainability strategy adoption. The achievements made in the past 10 years lay a strong foundation for ABB’s another decade of sustainability strategy practice with ambitious targets, launched in November 2020. The new 2030 sustainability strategy places a strong emphasis on enabling a low-carbon society by reducing emissions, preserving resources, and promoting social progress.

About ABB’s new 2030 sustainability strategy, Björn Rosengren, CEO, ABB, said, “As long as we have the support of ABB’s incredible team, leading technologies, and the support of stakeholders, I strongly believe that we will meet our 2030 sustainability strategy targets and emerge as a leading contributor to sustainable development.”
Theodor Swedjemark, Chief Communications and Sustainability Officer, ABB, said, “We have set a strong track record with our sustainability strategy of last decade. This year we look forward to raising the bar and identifying areas where we can have the biggest impact. To facilitate the development of a low carbon society, we will assist our suppliers in reducing their emissions, achieve carbon neutrality in our operations and enable our customers to lower their CO2 emissions by 100 megatons per year. I am of the belief that our new 2030 sustainability strategy will benefit all our stakeholders across our value chain.”
ABB’s remarkable performance in sustainability has earned it global recognition like its inclusion in the 2020 Corporate Knights Global 100 Index, 2020 FTSE4Good Index Series, the 2020 Ethibel Sustainability Index Excellence Global and Europe, and the 2021 ISS ESG Prime Status.
