ABB has inaugurated a specialized analytical training facility at its Service Training Center in Stonehouse, UK, designed to equip engineers with expertise in advanced water quality measurement technologies. The new Skills Hub features ABB’s continuous water analysis systems, widely used in power generation and water treatment applications globally for accurate and reliable water quality monitoring. These systems enhance efficiency and reduce environmental impact.
Dr Jonathan Farrington, Technical Manager for ABB Measurement & Analytics’ service business, highlighted the importance of precise water quality measurement for ensuring potable water safety and effective industrial water treatment. “The Skills Hub provides engineers with a realistic training environment to refine their skills using ABB’s state-of-the-art solutions,” he said.
The facility includes a fully operational system divided into two sections: one focusing on analyzers for power industry parameters and another on water and wastewater treatment solutions. The adaptable panel design allows engineers to practice commissioning, operating, and maintaining it’s analyzers for parameters such as pH/ORP, conductivity, dissolved oxygen, and chlorine. This training hub aims to ensure optimal performance of ABB’s analytical solutions by familiarizing engineers with real-world applications and troubleshooting techniques.
