ABB has launched its new P-300 series of pressure transmitters in the United States, offering exceptional accuracy and flexibility for a wide range of applications in industries such as petrochemical, chemical, power, pulp and paper, and other industrial sectors. The P-300 series is capable of measuring pressures from as low as 0.05 kPa (0.2 in H₂O) in differential pressure applications, all the way up to 105 MPa (15,000 psi) for high gauge pressure applications, with a precision of 0.055%. Designed with the operator’s ease of use in mind, the transmitters feature a high-contrast, backlit HMI display for clear visibility in various lighting conditions.

A standout feature is the QR-code-enabled Digital Advanced Diagnostics (DAD), providing users with instant access to product documentation, which simplifies maintenance processes and minimizes downtime in operations. “Precise pressure measurement is critical in industrial processes for optimizing control, enhancing energy efficiency, reducing emissions, and ensuring consistent product quality,” said Amina Hamidi, Managing Director of ABB’s Business Line Instrumentation in the Measurement & Analytics division. “With the introduction of the P-300, we are ready to meet the needs of key industries across the U.S.”

When paired with ABB’s S26 remote diaphragm seal series, the P-300 transmitters feature a unique anti-abrasion Diaflex diaphragm that is built to withstand harsh slurry conditions found in many industrial processes. This protection reduces wear and tear, enhancing durability and extending the lifespan of the transmitters, even in the most challenging environments.

The P-300 series also meets the latest standards for hazardous areas, having been certified by FM Approvals (NRTL) in compliance with the US Hazardous Locations directive, ensuring safe installation in industries where hazardous area certification is required. Recently, ABB restructured its pressure transmitter portfolio to better meet the evolving needs of the industry. This new lineup, which includes the P-100, P-300, and P-500 series, covers a wide range of applications, offering easy selection based on specific process requirements.

Additionally, ABB’s new portfolio reflects the company’s commitment to sustainability. Each product comes with a Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), which evaluates its environmental impact from raw material sourcing through to its end-of-life. This data is used in Environmental Product Declarations (EPD), supporting informed and sustainable purchasing decisions.
