ABB, a global leader in NEMA motor technology, has enhanced its Baldor-Reliance® Food Safe stainless steel motor range by incorporating a new three-lead connection design. This improvement is tailored to streamline installation, improve reliability, and elevate workplace safety for food and beverage processing operations, all while integrating smoothly with current systems.

“This innovation reflects ABB’s ongoing commitment to delivering cutting-edge, dependable solutions for the unique requirements of the food processing sector” said Brandon Canclini, Global Product Manager, ABB’s NEMA Motors Division.

The three-lead design simplifies setup and reduces the risk of connection errors, resulting in greater operational efficiency and fewer disruptions. This upgrade is aimed at boosting productivity, reducing maintenance expenses, and minimizing downtime. The traditional nine- lead configuration remains available for variable speed drives and complex systems.

The Baldor-Reliance Food Safe motors, available in 1-5 horsepower models, are crafted to deliver top-tier performance and durability. The motors feature corrosion-resistant stainless steel enclosures with crevice-free, self-draining surfaces to prevent food particle accumulation, ensuring efficient cleaning and reducing contamination risks. Additional enhancements, such as welded feet, polished rotatable conduit boxes, and smooth drains, improve sanitation and usability.

Designed to NEMA Premium® efficiency standards, these motors offer energy savings alongside robust performance. Their construction from 300-series stainless steel ensures IP69 ingress protection and resilience to high-pressure, high-temperature washdowns. The design eliminates the need for motor shrouds, providing full 360-degree access for thorough cleaning.

With options for C-Face foot-mounted and footless designs, encapsulated, color-coded leads, and laser-marked nameplates, these motors prioritize convenience during installation and maintenance. Backed by a three-year warranty, they reflect ABB”s dedication to quality and reliability across diverse industrial applications.

ABB continues to lead the industry in electrification and automation, leveraging over 140 years of expertise to deliver sustainable and energy-efficient solutions. Through its Motion division, ABB supports industries worldwide with advanced motors and drives that drive productivity, safety, and reliability, empowering businesses to achieve cleaner and leaner operations globally.
