ABB India has announced an expansion of its educational programs as part of its efforts to promote inclusive education. These programs, previously active in 98 schools in Nelamangala, will now reach 50 additional schools in Peenya, impacting around 10,000 students in total.

The STEM Awareness and Foundational Literacy and Numerical Skills Program helps young students learn important science concepts along with basic reading and math skills. Integrated into the school schedule, it offers hands-on learning to make education engaging. This program is run in partnership with Sikshana Foundation.

Another program, called Paryavaran Mitra, will soon start in collaboration with the Centre for Environment Education (CEE). It aims to prepare older students for environmental challenges by involving them in eco-friendly activities at school and in their communities. The Department of Education in Karnataka is helping design and implement this program, covering topics like water management and waste reduction.

Sanjeev Arora, President of ABB India, stated that the company is committed to supporting education and environmental sustainability. He emphasized the importance of teaching the next generation about their impact on the environment.

These initiatives began in 2022 and have successfully increased student awareness of scientific concepts. ABB has trained 98 teachers in Nelamangala to effectively deliver these programs. A similar training program will start in Peenya this year.

ABB also supports women in STEM through an engineering scholarship with the Lila Poonawalla Foundation, with two batches having graduated from this program. ABB is a leader in technology for electrification and automation, aiming for a more sustainable future by connecting engineering expertise with software solutions.
