ABB India has launched a smart center for electrician training in Faridabad, Haryana. This initiative, in collaboration with the Electronics Sector Skills Council of India (ESSCI), aims to equip young people with the skills needed to thrive in the competitive job market, aligning with the National Education Policy, 2020.
The launch event was attended by Sujeet Gusain, Location Industrial Relation Manager, Faridabad, ABB India; Saroj Apato, Vice-President, ESSCI; Rajeev Singh, AGM; Dr. Abhilasha Gaur, CEO, ESSCI, and other representatives from both organizations.
The program will provide a comprehensive management solution to screen, select, and train candidates, and offer job opportunities locally. Selected candidates will undergo over 540 hours of training, equivalent to 90 days at the center. ESSCI will work with industry partners to facilitate job placements, bridging the gap between skill acquisition and employment.
Sanjeev Arora, President of Motion Business, ABB India, highlighted the importance of the initiative, stating, “This is a significant step towards addressing the skill gap in the electronics sector. By focusing on upskilling the existing workforce and training the youth, we aim to create a sustainable pipeline of skilled professionals ready to meet industry demands.”
Dr. Abhilasha Gaur, CEO of ESSCI, expressed enthusiasm for the partnership, saying, “We are thrilled to partner with ABB India. By leveraging our expertise in skilling, we aim to empower the youth and provide them with the necessary skills to succeed in the competitive job market.”
