ABB India has introduced an expanded range of low voltage flameproof motors, reinforcing its commitment to safety, reliability, and energy efficiency in hazardous industrial settings. Designed to operate in industries such as Oil & Gas, Chemicals, Pharmaceuticals, and Food & Beverage, these motors provide a robust solution for environments where explosive gases pose significant risks. Manufactured at ABB’s state-of-the-art Bengaluru facility, they comply with PESO (Petroleum and Explosive Safety Organization) regulations, ensuring industry-leading safety standards.
The newly launched motors cover a power range of 37kW to 500kW, available in frame sizes 280-355 and certified for use in gas groups IIA, IIB, and IIC. Their advanced flameproof enclosures undergo rigorous pressure testing to prevent flame propagation in case of an internal explosion, enhancing workplace safety. These Made-in-India motors are engineered for extreme operating conditions, withstanding ambient temperatures from -20°C to +60°C, making them ideal for demanding industrial applications.
Energy efficiency remains at the core of ABB’s innovation, with these flameproof motors available in IE2, IE3, and IE4 efficiency classes. They are designed to optimize performance while minimizing energy consumption, particularly when operated at partial loads. Industries can achieve significant cost savings by pairing these motors with variable frequency drives (VFDs), which further enhance energy efficiency in variable torque applications. Precision manufacturing also ensures low noise levels, resulting in quieter operation and reduced maintenance needs.
