ABB and Bilfinger Partner to Enhance Industry Efficiency with Instrumentation and Digital Solutions

ABB has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and Framework Agreement with Bilfinger, a global industrial services provider, to collaborate on enhancing operational efficiency through instrumentation and digital solutions within the energy and process industries. This partnership will strengthen the integration of digital technologies and instrumentation in sectors such as energy, chemicals, petrochemicals, pharmaceuticals, and oil and gas. The primary focus within the energy sector will be on sustainable solutions that support the transition, especially in hydrogen and carbon capture utilization and storage (CCUS).

By combining their expertise, ABB and Bilfinger aim to deliver advanced, efficient solutions to their customers. ABB’s portfolio of innovative instrumentation and digital solutions will complement Bilfinger’s extensive experience in both conventional and renewable energy as well as process industries, covering the entire value chain.

The collaboration between ABB and Bilfinger will focus on providing comprehensive maintenance and replacement services. Bilfinger will manage maintenance contracts that cover instrumentation upgrades, spare parts supply, equipment replacements, and pipeline servicing. ABB will contribute by supplying advanced instrumentation, including flowmeters, pressure, temperature, and level sensors, as well as transmitters and digital services, ensuring enhanced efficiency and reliability for industrial operations.

In addition to maintenance, the partnership will support new greenfield and brownfield projects across the energy sector and process industries. ABB and Bilfinger will work together to deliver cutting-edge efficiency solutions for customers, with a particular emphasis on emerging fields such as hydrogen production and carbon capture, utilization, and storage (CCUS). By combining their expertise, the two companies aim to drive innovation and sustainability in critical industrial applications.
