Taking advantage of the recent collaboration by India’s leading Machine Tool solution provider Phillips Machine Tools, Hyderabad based Aaran 1 Engineering, a leader in the precision engineering sector, has forayed into additive manufacturing by purchasing Markforged Metal & Composite 3D printers and become an early proponent of smart AM platform.
"We at Aaran 1 Engineering is always looking at offering unique manufacturing experiences for our customers, and that’s what we look at our suppliers. Markforged and Phillips Additive had the best solutions and experience offered to us with their innovative Additive Manufacturing solutions", said Gavin Price, Managing Director of Aaran 1 Engineering commenting on their latest embark on additive manufacturing.

“We have decided to venture into additive manufacturing with Markforged Metal X and composite printers to our portfolio along with the support from Phillips Additive", added Mr Price. Aaran 1 Engineering has dominated the market with its avant-garde engineering components and tools for the aerospace, oil & gas, defence and medical sector.

Anuj Budhiraja, Country Manager, Markforged India, explains how on the shop floor, additive manufacturing technology will guarantee 3D printed tools, grippers, end of arm tooling and jigs. Mr Budhiraja comments on the high demand for composite materials and ESD-approved special materials as a substitute for traditional tools prevalent on the shop floors. Design-to-print additive technology is inducing massive transformation in the manufacturing scenario.
“With traditional manufacturing processes it is taking way more time and cost to cater to low volume batch production and 3D printing in composite and metal are really helping to drive this faster with quick turnaround time and lower cost parameters,” explains Budhiraja.

With Phillips Machine Tools introducing Markforged Additive Manufacturing solutions in India, the customers got a great price advantage, informed Sumeet Bengeri, Head of Phillips Machine Tools Additive Manufacturing. “With new platforms such as electric vehicles enters into mass production, precision engineering sectors like automotive, aerospace, defence, medical and other general engineering is growing its base in India, Markforged can bring great advantage for component manufacturers”, added Mr Bengeri.
