UST, a leader in digital transformation solutions, has announced the winners of its SIGHT 2.0 competition, marking the second edition of the event focused on Sustainable Innovations for Growth and Human Transformation. Hosted at UST’s Thiruvananthapuram campus, the event continues the company’s commitment to fostering the next generation of innovators and thought leaders. SIGHT is a unique technical expo and competition aimed at final-year students from professional colleges across India.
The competition, which became a hub for sustainable innovations and transformative ideas, saw team Oillovators from the Institute of Engineering & Management (IEM), Kolkata, take the top prize of Rs. 50,000, along with certificates and mementos. The second prize of Rs. 25,000, certificates, and mementos was awarded to team Seakers from Dr. Ambedkar Institute of Technology, Bengaluru. Team Neo Sustain from R.M.K. Engineering College, Tiruvallur, Tamil Nadu secured the third prize, earning Rs. 10,000, certificates, and mementos. The awards were presented by Sheffi Anwar, General Manager – Business Operations & Workplace Management at UST.
SIGHT 2.0, organized by COLOR GOLD, a team within UST, attracted over 1000 registrations from more than 300 professional colleges across India. The event provided a platform to showcase student creativity, intellect, and technical skills, focusing on innovations that promote sustainable development and positive human impact. COLOR GOLD is part of UST’s renowned employee engagement program, COLORS, which connects staff members across its global locations.
The competition’s first round saw the evaluation of initial project abstracts, leading to the shortlisting of the top 500 entries. The second round further narrowed the pool to 280 entries, showcasing the progress of student projects. After a rigorous selection process, 14 standout teams were chosen to present their innovations in the final round. The judging panel focused on the originality, technicality, and real-world impact of the solutions.
