ZEISS eyes foundries to help them in seamless, yet productive measurement

ZEISS is a German-based leading enterprise that designs, develops, and distributes the latest technological innovations in the optical and optoelectronic industries.  ZEISS has its headquarters in India at Bangalore operated chiefly in the fields of Industrial Metrology, Microscopy, Medical Technology, Vision Care and Sports & Cine Optics.

From a pure sales unit in 1998 to a number of divisions functioning under the banner, ZEISS India today has developed into a full-scale representative of ZEISS. These divisions are functional as R&D centers, IT centers, sales & marketing, and production facilities that have found strong roots in India over the past 21 years. For the MMTS Expo held at Chennai, ZEISS India aims to focus on the niche of industrial quality solution that deals with measurement technology.

Specializing in contact and noncontact optical measurements, ZEISS India is planning to bring all sorts of latest tech-enabled measurement devices to the visitors at MMTS. In a chat with J Hemanth Kumar, the National Sales Manager at ZEISS, he said, “Today, ZEISS has a proactive presence throughout the country. We have regional offices set-up with stand-alone teams and offices that offer services and applications. We also operate competence centers in various locations where we have machines installed for customer demo as well as measurement services.”

Industries can bring their machine parts or casting molds and have it measured in our facilities and receive reports from us to submit it to their customers

ZEISS’s significance is sustainable investments in R&D and excellent market leadership that, they believe, lays the foundation for success and constant expansion of the company’s technology. For ensuring sustainable customer contact, Mr. Kumar says, “Our competence centers bring ZEISS closer to the customers equipping them with resources to provide services like training & development and on-site measurement service in addition to sales support. We also get a chance to interact with industries on a regular basis.”

At MMTS, ZEISS wants to kick off with a focus on customers from Aluminum foundries for whom they offer a huge range of products from their Industrial Metrology division that leads all the metrology (measurement) solutions. On the similar lines, Mr. Kumar adds, “Our focus is on Aluminum die casting using the X-ray and optical scanner machine offered by ZEISS.”

We plan to showcase optical  Scanner at MMTS 2019 along with the catalog displays; we also want to encourage interactions and answer questions regarding the use of our products in the aluminum foundries face-to-face
