A new solar photovoltaic (PV) module having a capacity of 1.3 GW has been inaugurated at Indospace Industrial Park, Orgadam Tamil Nadu M K Stalin, Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. The Step to enrich the indigenous solar manufacturing and speed up the Atmanirbhar Bharat Mission led Vikram Solar to become the largest solar manufacturer in India.

Vikram Solar, a leading solar energy solutions provider in India, has achieved another milestone in the indigenous solar development vision. Having distributed a photovoltaic module worth 3.5 GW globally, it has set its PV manufacturing capacity to 2.5 GW. Integration of world-class Manufacturing machinery with digitization has given Vikram Solar the artfulness in the renewable energy revolution in India.

The Tamil Nadu government, by enabling ease of doing business has provided the necessary base to Vikram Solar. The plan aims to assist research and development modules of the future generation’s solar technology.

The digitization has enabled Vikram Solar to deploy the solutions better. Along with this, the digital production display board, Internet of Things (IoT), Artificial Intelligence and inspection of zero defects are also ensured to sustain the comprehensive EPC solutions.

On the inauguration event, highlighting the scope of the solar energy revolution in India, Gyanesh Chaudhary, CEO & Managing Director, Vikram Solar Limited states, “We believe that the exponential demand surge for the solar energy along with the insolent need to diversify trade markets and supply chains projects a huge opportunity for indigenous solar manufacturing

5000 cr in 5 years: Herculean plan for the future

After acquiring the title of India’s largest PV solar module manufacturer, Vikram Solar is planning to double the capacity from 2.5 GW to 5 GW in the next five years. For this purpose, the company is striving towards a progressive plan of investing 5000 cr in the next five years to set up a 5 GW solar capacity module. It has invested 200 cr in the recent set up of a 1.3 GW PV solar module.

As per the reports, the PLI scheme for solar manufacturing will also assist in the enhancement of Vikram’s solar capacity. With the ambition of globalizing services and products manufactured with ‘Make In India,’ Vikram Solar is endeavouring to gladden the nation’s Renewable Energy Industry, which aims to achieve 450 GW capacity by the year 2030. The company is aspiring to capitalize on India’s solar manufacturing to find accurate import substitution.

Moreover, Vikram Solar is looking for a non-specific economic zone for the expansion of the solar plans due to the challenges faced by specific economic zones. Preceding the current actions under Atmanirbhar Solar Manufacturing, Vikram Solar had commissioned a 140 MW solar power project for National Thermal Power Corporation Limited, at Bilhaur, Kanpur.

Under the leadership of H K Chaudhary Vikram Solar Limited, has today emerged as one of India’s leading solar power companies with global acclaim. With an international presence across 6 continents, Vikram Solar has four years of excellence in Solar Manufacturing. It has deployed more than 1355 GW solar projects in India and abroad.

Vikram Solar’s this tread board under the vision of clean energy transition to bring up India’s self-reliant manufacturing is estimated to create employment for almost 1,000 people and is capable of handling around 640 watts module wattage. It became the first largest solar manufacturing unit in the state of Tamil Nadu and is solely dedicated to the people of Tamil Nadu.
