Mumbai to host Plastics Knowledge Day 2019

The Plastics Knowledge Day 2019 brings together specialists from the plastics industry and experts in optical metrology. Scheduled on 16th September 2019 at Hilton Mumbai International Airport, this one-day event from 9 am to 3 pm, where interested people from the plastic industry can participate by simple registration. This is part of the international series of events organized by GOM, a global leader in industrial measuring, is expected to take place at more than 40 locations in 2019. The series already started on January 29, 2019, at the headquarters in Braunschweig, Germany. The events are an industrial meeting platform for knowledge transfer and exchange of experience.

Speaking about the event, Akshay Singh, CEO of Big Zero Technology, the West India representative of GOM was optimistic about the value addition Indian plastic manufacturers can avail from Plastic Knowledge Day.

“Plastic plays an important part in our day to day life and there is a lot of technicalities that are involved with plastics engineering. With the sole aim of catering this specific segment, we want to talk about the role of optical technologies in processes”, explains Akshay Singh, CEO, Big Zero Technology

GOM develops, produces and distributes software, machines, and systems for 3D coordinate measuring technology and 3D testing based on the latest research results and innovative technologies. With more than 60 sites and more than 1,000 metrology specialists, GOM guarantees professional advice, as well as support and service across the globe. More than 14,000 system installations improve the product quality and manufacturing processes in the automotive, aerospace and consumer goods industries.

Supported by renowned users, GOM shows worldwide how precise industrial 3D metrology helps to ensure quality and identify optimization potentials in plastics technology. In plastics process chains, 3D metrology supports and accelerates almost all areas: from determining material behavior via toolmaking up to series accompanying production control and trend analyses.

Plastics Knowledge Day 2019 offers a platform for design engineers, tool and mold makers as well as specialists from production and quality assurance to exchange user knowledge from plastics technology and optical metrology. You can register for this event at http://bit.ly/PlasticsKnowledgeDay2019_Mumbai

Knowledge is transferred by four formats. Presentation blocks at the beginning and end of the knowledge day focus on the introduction to 3D digitizing for quality assurance and advanced topics, such as virtual clamping of parts. Practical applications, such as the handling of GD&T or the use of optical measuring systems in toolmaking, are imparted in four Knowledge Tracks. Communication islands offer the opportunity to get to know the functions and features of the GOM software or new developments in 3D metrology based on examples from daily practice. The participants can also get help with individual questions.
