In a worthwhile attempt to bridge the industry-academia gap in the country, Mikro Innotech, the foremost manufacturer of laser marking solutions, set up an advanced Mechatronics Lab at PVPIT (Padmabhushan Vasantdada Patil Institute of Technology), Budhgaon. Despite the abundance of brilliant engineering minds at Indian engineering institutes, a lack of hands-on experience and understanding of industry requirements renders the workforce inept at handling advanced industrial setups or meeting industry requirements.

With the Indian manufacturing sector set on a growth trajectory and the requirement of a skilled workforce to facilitate growth, better collaboration between industry and academic institutes is a necessity. Keeping this view as a guiding principle Mikro Inotech came forward with the idea of setting up the Mechatronics Lab.

Students and teaching staff often fail to access the information available for them due to their location which is not in the proximity to the industrial belt. We feel our initiative is a right step in that direction.

“To bridge the gap and nurture the talent of the students located in semi-urban areas, Mikro Innotech is committed to building an interface between the academic and industry which will be a door opener for multiple opportunities for the students”, he added. The Lab co-developed with PVPIT has modern faculties and equipment and the right environment for the students to gain insightful knowledge about the industry so that they can become the skilled workforce of tomorrow and unleash their full potential.
