On 27th August CNC software, Inc., the developers of Mastercam participated the grand inauguration of the Gene Haas Center for Advanced Manufacturing Skills (CAMS) at Hudson Valley Community College (HVCC) in Troy, New York. The facility with an area of 37,000 Square foot provides a futuristic manufacturing hub to organize training to CNC machinists, toolmakers, CNC programmers, and industrial maintenance personnel.
The grand opening of the Gene Haas CAMS facility was an illustrious event, witnessed by leaders from Gene Haas Foundation, Mastercam along with other sponsoring partners and area politicians and dignitaries joining the HVCC community of students and educators.
Mastercam is the sole CAM sponsor of the CAM facility, which incorporates a lot of CAD/CAM labs. A dedicated lab is designated as Mastercam sponsored lab, with a panel indication in the hallway appreciating the company’s dedication to shape the future of manufacturing.
During the event, Meghan West, President, and CEO of CNC Software, Inc. stated, “We are incredibly proud to be sponsors of this lab and to be partnering with such an outstanding facility that’s pushing out the workforce of tomorrow.” She further adds, “Workforce development is an important aspect and the initiative will address the problem of the skill gap that is affecting not only us but everywhere in the US and worldwide.”
“Mastercam has always been encouraging towards education and ensuring that we are joining hands with people who are responsible for the workforce from our next generation. This is an important thing for us to be a part of, and we are happy to be here”

Dave Larkin professor at HVCC said that among various choices of CAD and CAM we remain with Mastercam based on our previous experience. We have noticed that most of our customers presented here are Mastercam manufacturing firms. Almost twenty partners were presented and Mastercam remained the most important one.
