The modern age was running like Shinkasen (Bullet Train) when suddenly a small microorganism (virus) brought it to a standstill. This jolt not only put brake on our fast pace lives but also gave a pause to think on all those things which we were knowingly ignoring in our day to day lives.
Since ages we assumed basic requirements of humans were Roti, Kapda, and Makaan (food, clothing, and shelter), we never realized when this changed to Mobile, Wifi and Google. The pings on our mobiles are giving us sleepless nights and the counts of likes on our social media posts are giving more anxiety than our board exams. With all of this going on, the corona episode has given us time to think and reanalyze our requirements as humans. With the online sales on halt, we are surviving with our regular set of clothes, with fast-food chains closed; we are relishing our home-cooked Indian meals (Ghar ka Khana).
So now that we are back to our authenticity and actually relishing it, why not realize that our body types also need a specific workout which is designed to keep our Indian body composition in mind the climate of a place and lifestyle of people also needs to be considered when we design our workout.
The entire world is realizing the potential of ancient Indian wisdom, its high time we also understand the importance of “Yoga” which was designed centuries ago to maintain the human body composition with the equilibrium of the elements of nature.
Where hardcore cardio workouts work only on our external body, Yoga works on your mind, body, and soul. With the ever-growing work stress, peer pressure and social demands, we need something to not just tone our muscles but relax our mind as well. The society these days is not divided by caste or creed but with tech breeds or nontech tech breeds (which are very few). So my focus is more on the tech breeds here.
Since we have got a great opportunity (thanks to lockdown) let's revive what we inherited and put it to our benefit. We need to design a daily workout that not only exhausts us but rather energizes us. Since this is a vast topic, I would like to start a conversation here and begin a chain. The temperatures are rising all over the world due to global warming which is why a balanced workout (Yoga + Cardio) is required.
Let’s all share ideas and understand together the importance of a balanced workout so that we can design a workout that can benefit all in this lockdown period.
