While the 21 national curfew is in effect and people are staying indoors due to the widespread of Coronavirus (COVID19), a considerable percentage of Indian citizens are found outdoors without genuine or practical reasons. The government, corporate companies, industrial majors, NGOs are all doing what they can to fight the current crisis situation, but there is still a huge need for more support and individuals are stepping in with whatever they have to offer.

In Hyderabad, “Corona Car” – that resembles the virus behind COVID19 is out on the streets. In a bid to increase the awareness around COVID 19, Sudhakar Yadav, owner of a printing business, felt the urge to design and manufacture “Corona Car”, which is a single-seater vehicle.

The “Corona Car” is essentially a used two-wheeler that has been modified into a car. The vehicle is equipped with 6 wheels and suspensions. The car is powered by a 100cc engine and can go up to a speed of 40 kmph. It is made using fluorescent-green fibre with red spikes with crown-like endings similar to that of the virus.

Hyderabad police have supported this initiative by Sudhakar and he plans to donate the vehicle to the local authorities to maximize its use in creating awareness about the disease and its dangerous repercussions. Sudhakar apparently inspired by virus-shaped helmets police of other cities used to create awareness, and to him, the purpose of the “Corona Car” is to implore people to stay at home and stay safe.
