Deep Pajwani talks about the development of their new high-speed hydraulic press and how challenging it was to develop it. He also sheds light on the ‘Made in India’ campaign and how it has changed the position of India in manufacturing.

Ritters Automation Pvt. Ltd., a trusted manufacturer of quality pneumatic and hydraulic products for industrial applications came about in the year 1990. Among its line-up of products, important ones include hydraulic presses, power packs, cylinders, pneumatic presses, FRLs, SPMs, and panels. These besides, the company has successfully started a line of indigenously manufactured machines that include rubber injection, pipe flaring and squeezing machines, hydro-pneumatic presses with an indexing table, hydro-pneumatic presses for blister sealing and cutting 2-station with trolleys, to name a few.

Team Ritter

Among its latest and most known products is the innovative and indigenously designed “High-Speed Hydraulic Press” that is said to be 5-6 times faster than conventional presses and save close to 30 to 40% electricity. These find application in reputed automobile and allied industries where they are said to be working to their optimum capacities while deriving utmost satisfaction for their owners. This machine is said to have brought a revolution in the press and assembly shops in the automotive industry in India.

Among others, the company’s research & development department is working with its design team department to constantly improve existing designs and develop new products and technologies that offer a decisive edge to customers in the existing market. To this end, they ensure that every component designed and manufactured by them remains perfect and passes all the relevant quality tests.

The company’s goal remains to provide solutions to customers for automation in the field of hydraulics & pneumatics. Explaining their working and varied USPs, Deep Panjwani, founder of Ritters Automation states that a hydraulic press in its simplest form is a simple press that runs on oil. A motor is attached to the pump and reservoir. It helps suck the oil from the reservoir that then feeds it through the hydraulic cylinder. In doing so, a force is created that pushes a piston that is attached to a press at the other end. A required operation thus comes about. With different settings, the speed and operations of the press can be varied to apply to different jobs and activities.

Deep Panjwani

“We did not copy any design”, says Mr. Panjwani talking about the challenges he faced when developing their new product. “It is very challenging to research and develop a product with zero references; the problems can show themselves at any time” continued Mr. Panjwani. It took them about 2-3 years to perfect the prototyping of their high-speed hydraulic presses. “To sell a product which is not been made needs real convincing skills,” says Mr. Deep regarding the challenges he and his team face when it came to convincing new customers.

As a rule machine designs by foreign companies are considered to be of high value, while completely disregarding the fact that Indian technology can be just as good if not better than any foreign technology product. The ‘Made in India’ slogan provided Indian manufacturers limelight to show the world what they are capable of bringing about. To this end, Ritter as recently as 2020 exported machines to the US. “We got an advantage during the pandemic”, comments Mr. Panjwani. Indian companies have risen from 7th to 4th position in automobile components and car manufacturing. With such an optimistic approach, India will be the top manufacturing destination for global industries.
