During the recently held 71st Republic Day Parade, India’s military might was on full display as some of its newly acquired indigenous capabilities such as the anti-satellite missile technology Shakti, alongside Dhanush, Astra, and Akash Air Defence Mechanisms were some of the many marked features indicating the Indian Manufacturing and Defense preparedness and growth potential focusing on intensified efforts of turning this into a homegrown industry of all sorts.

Apart from Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Ramnath Kovind accompanied by the Guest of Honour Brazilian president Jair Bolsanaro, echelons of all levels from the Indian Military and central, civilian leadership were a part of country's premier national event. The ceremony also saw a first with Prime Minister Modi paying his tributes to the much revered National War Memorial first remembering all the brave hearts who laid down their lives for the Country alongside with a visit to the Amar Jyoti Jawan. 

One of the leading indigenous discoveries – The Dhanush 155 mm/45-calibre gun system is a towed Howitzer designed by the Ordnance Factory Board which happens to be the first long-range artillery gun to be produced in India.  Also underlined as a major success of the government’s Make in India initiative, its importance levels get significantly underlined with the talks of the foreign acquired Bofors system being formally replaced by this structured state of the Art indigenous facility.
