With a focus on customer satisfaction and local manufacturing, GEFIT India ensures seamless service and continuous improvement, driving India’s global leadership in industrial innovation. Today we bring an exclusive interview story with Deepak Gowda, the man behind GEFIT India.

GEFIT India is one of the leading suppliers and manufacturers of moulds and assembly in the country that caters to various sectors which includes industries such as food and beverages, pharmaceutical, cosmetics and medical sectors. GEFIT India is part of GEFIT SPA, which has a rich history in the industry from the last 50-years. The subsidiary company in India has expanded its business which includes making moulds for thermoplastics and building highly efficient and precise assembly machines.

From last five years, Deepak Gowda, GEFIT India’s Operations Manager who has been in charge of the company has had, strong manufacturing industry experience and a background in mechanical engineering. His career at GEFIT has been one of innovation and progress.

Climbing the ranks while navigating complexities

Mr Gowda started his journey at GEFIT India as a Technical Manager and has since climbed the ranks to become the Operation Manager. GEFIT India has become a leading name in the assembly of automotive and non-automotive components, because of a commitment to technological advancement and precision engineering. He took charge of the company’s transition over the last five years. Starting his career journey as a Project Engineer at several manufacturing facilities, he has gained hands-on experience in the industry. Through this journey, his career provided him with deep insights into the inner workings and management of manufacturing plants. It was here that he learned to navigate the complexities and challenges of the industry, skills that have proven crucial in his role at GEFIT.

In 2019, Deepak Gowda became the Operation Manager at GEFIT India, managing the manufacturing plant located in Pune, which was the first manufacturing plant of GEFIT in India. His 15 years of industry experience and expertise in mechanical engineering have been instrumental in steering the company towards continuous improvement and innovation.

Fulfilling client’s requirements

GEFIT India offers a variety of assembly methods to meet the needs of its clientele. They provide after-sales service. Typically, their machines have a one-year warranty. So, once the equipment is dispatched, they provide a one-year warranty service. Even after that, if customers require spare parts, repairs, or maintenance, GEFIT India is available to assist them.

GEFIT India’s product portfolio includes assembly lines and special-purpose machines designed specifically for automotive components. They also take on non-automotive ideas and assess them for technological validity. The emphasis is on exact component assembly, with a focus on data traceability, which is crucial in today’s industrial environment.

They offer different methods based on what the customer needs. They can opt for manual assembly, where an operator works on a standalone bench and then sends the assembled parts. Alternatively, they can use semi-automatic machines, where the operator loads and unloads components, and the machine takes care of the rest, capturing crucial process parameters along the way.

Technological upgrade

They use Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) from various brands such as Siemens, Mitsubishi, and Rockwell for hardware. Their software developers then create the code for these PLCs, ensuring that automation and hardware are seamlessly integrated.

The process of creating these machines begins with an understanding of the customer’s requirements. They develop their concept beginning with mechanical engineering and progressing to electrical engineering. It’s a collaboration that brings together two disciplines to develop efficient and dependable assembly solutions. Highlighting about another area of specialization of the company, Mr. Gowda emphasizes the fact that “After the GEFIT came here, all the machines we are providing locally. So, starting from Engineering to Installation and commissioning and also the service support”.

For Mr Gowda, it’s not just about business—it’s about Customer satisfaction. He passionately believes that local manufacturing not only fuels economic growth but also empowers communities by creating jobs and nurturing skills. His constant commitment to products and businesses demonstrates his trust in India’s ability to lead on a global scale.
