Mr Mehta completed his Chartered Accountancy rather than pursuing a traditional accounting career. Initially involved in a family business that manufactured automotive parts, he gained invaluable experience in the industry. However, in 2012, after a family business separation, Mehta founded Emmforce Auto Tech Limited, marking the beginning of a new chapter.
“At that time, competition was always present, but I believed in cutting through the market by creating unique products, it is not about avoiding competition but rather about innovating and distinguishing oneself.” Mr Mehta shares.
Like many businesses, Emmforce’s journey began with a mix of personal investment and bank support. Despite the challenges associated with securing funds, Mr Mehta’s credibility and experience in the industry enabled smooth financial backing. “Funding is a challenge for many, but if your vision is strong and your business is solid, banks are always willing to support,” he says.

Although the Middle East presents business opportunities, it has never been a core focus for Emmforce. Instead, the company continues to consolidate its position in the American and Asian markets, catering to the high standards and technological requirements of these regions.
Originally from Patiala, Punjab, Mr Mehta moved to Chandigarh in 1991 and eventually set up operations in Himachal Pradesh. Unlike traditional manufacturing hubs, Himachal was not widely recognized for industrial ventures at the time. However, he saw potential in the region’s work environment and cost-effectiveness.
“Industrial areas are always located 30-40 kilometers outside major cities, and Himachal provided the perfect balance of affordability and accessibility,” he explains. Additionally, the sociopolitical situation in Punjab in the early 1990s influenced the decision to establish operations elsewhere.
Despite the challenges of operating in a non-traditional manufacturing hub, Mr Mehta finds satisfaction in his journey. “Himachal offers a great working environment with honest and hardworking people. I have no regrets about setting up our operations here.”

Long before the Indian government’s ‘Make in India’ initiative was announced in 2014, Emmforce was already committed to manufacturing with indigenous technology and raw materials. “For us, it was always about ‘Made in India’ rather than just ‘Make in India.’ Our focus has been on engineering excellence and global competitiveness from the start.”
