Prakash Engitech Private Limited, led by Kalpesh Rathod, has been a pioneer in the manufacturing industry for half a century. Established 50 years ago, by Kalpesh’s grandfather, Prakash Engitech has grown from its humble beginnings to become a major player in the industry, specializing in drilling machines, flexible arm tapping machines, and large vertical machining centres.

Kalpesh Rathod, the third-generation entrepreneur, joined the family business in 2001 driven by his passion for machines and their manufacturing. “From an early age, I was drawn to machines and that led me to pursue mechanical engineering.” He completed his degree in 2001 from Birla Vishvakarma Mahavidyalaya in Vallabh Vidyanagar, Gujarat.

Tapping Opportunities with Flexible Arm Tapping Machines

About five to six years ago, Prakash Engitech ventured into the flexible arm-tapping machine market. Initially introduced in the West and China, these machines were not widely available in India. “We identified the challenges our customers faced with imported machines and developed a range of robust, cost-effective machines tailored for Indian operators,” Rathod explains. The efforts have paid off, positioning the company as a leader in this segment.

Prakash Engitech is also making strides with double-column vertical machining centres. Recognizing a market gap between smaller table-moving machines and larger heavy-duty ones, the company introduced a new range of mid-sized machines. “Our new range of mid-sized machines bridges this gap, offering high performance for various components,” says Rathod.

The company uses superior components, such as Mitsubishi motors and controllers, ensuring their machines can operate 24/7 with minimal issues. “This focus on quality has helped us gain market share and customer trust,” Rathod states.

Expanding Presence in Evolving Markets

Reflecting on the changes since he joined in 2001, Rathod notes the significant evolution in the market. “There is now a greater acceptance of CNC technologies and an increased demand for advanced features,” he observes.
