Speciality Urethanes specializes in the production of polyurethane wheels, a component used in various equipment within the Material handling industry. These polyurethane wheels are commonly used all metal handling applications such as stackers, pallet trucks, Reach trucks, ASRs, AGVs, Conveyor automations, trolleys, and other internal factory equipment, where epoxy floors are common.The company, in operation since 1991, has emerged as a key player, supplying polyurethane wheels to almost all major Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) in India.
Mr Andavan highlighted that Speciality Urethanes has become compatible with quality and reliability in the metal handling industry. Their expertise lies in manufacturing polyurethane wheels for various applications, including Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs), ASRs, conveyor lines, and paint lines, catering to the evolving needs of the industry.
One particular aspect of Speciality Urethanes’ offerings is their special material known as Vulkollan. The company holds the license to import the raw material from Germany and has been the sole Indian manufacturer of this patented product for the past 7 to 8 years. Vulkollan, often referred to as the “king of polyurethane,” is a critical component in high-speed automation conveyors and AGVs.
Speciality Urethanes also has a diverse range of polyurethane grades, ranging from 40 Shore A to 85 Shore D, suitable for different applications. This includes AGVs, ASRs, pallet shuttles, conveyor automation, and other material handling equipments. The focus will be on drive wheels, load wheels, support wheels, AGV wheels, and various specialized wheels equipped with different polyurethanes grades.
The company aims to strengthen the direct customer base through LogiMAT INDIA, stating that the participants are already existing clients, including Addverb, Craftsman, NilKamal, Godrej Metal Handling, and more.Moreover, Speciality Urethanes intends to introduce a new product named ” Vulkollan Soft.” This specific grade, tested and refined over the past six months, holds as a valuable addition to their existing product line. Vulkollan Soft is the part of their SupraWheels brand.
Mr Andavan expressed how the industry, once hesitant towards automation, witnessed a shift post-COVID-19. The challenges thrown by the pandemic highlighted the need for efficient and automated solutions, making warehouse automation an important aspect of the logistics in India. Mr Andavan also highlighted the role played by Speciality Urethanes in this changing landscape. As the industry evolves towards Industry 4.0, where fast and efficient logistics are essential, the demand for specialized polyurethane wheels becomes more obvious.
