Mitsubishi’s HMI Graphic Operation Terminal GOT2000 Series Sturdy Model for Use Under Extreme Conditions

Mitsubishi Electric Corporation pioneer in manufacturing of electrical and electronic equipment has recently introduced a sturdy model in their Graphic Operation Terminal under series GOT2000, a Human-Machine Interface enabling workers to operate under extreme conditions. The new model shall allow the workers to monitor, control and regulate the machines which work under extreme conditions viz. high temperature, bright lighting, powerful vibrations or shocks, high water pressure, etc.

The salient product features of the newly introduced Rugged Model remain its toughness which has been possible because of Aluminium front panel which can withstand strong vibrations and shocks (twice the power compared to GOT2000 Series standard model). The post-installation rating of the front panel is IP66/IP67 (Ingress Protection is the various level of protection as per IEC, where the first digit indicates resistance to foreign solid particles and second digit explains resistance to water from various pressure and angle) making it resistant to the high pressure water jet.

It was designed to withstand extreme ambient temperatures from -20°C to +65°C (standard model can withstand only from 0°C to 55°C). The panel also comes with Wide 7-inch TFT screen (WVGA: 800×480) with 65,536 colors for impressive and clear displays along with improved screen visibility and extra outdoor durability with 95% UV resistant.

In the area of communication interfaces, the new Model has come with multiple communication interfaces for IoT project sites. It has Built-in Ethernet communication interface (Ethernet 2ch) for IoT integration and a LAN module which is optional for wireless communication with remote PCs.

The new Rugged Model has intervened with various other functions to improve efficiency along with reduction in total costs. It has GOT mobile function (requires optional licence GT25-WEBSKEY) to monitor overall functions in real time with the help of couple of remote devices (PCs, tablets etc.) to reduce overall costs at production sites. The model has audible warning function installed to reduce the downtimes and prevent misoperations.

GOT2000 series for Better Performance

Most of the production sites are now monitored and operated with HMI as it provides smoother control over equipment. Mitsubishi Electric’s GOT2000 HMI product series was first introduced in 2013 and has been predominantly accepted by electrical and electronics component manufacturers. The usage of HMI has been extended to outdoor locations like parking lots, construction sites and mines where highly sturdy designs are required to withstand extreme conditions which includes high temperature, extreme brightness, UV, vibration, shock and high pressure water ingress.

HMI makes operations smooth and more efficient at the production site and it also contributes in energy saving. The more we save energy the more we save our environment.
