ER-ready driven units combined with solid ER collets threaded to accept screw-on milling cutters, Kennametal expands the turret adapted clamping units (TACU).
Ronald West, Manager-Tooling Systems, remarked that a great blend of technology is the solid ER collets and the novel TACU ER units. Their sizes range from ER25 to ER40 and the thread sizes range from M08 to M16. The live tool lathe gets machining center-like abilities due to this innovation. These products render flexibility to the usage of solid end mills with standard ER collets or new solid ER collets with screw-on indexable milling cutters.
Kennametal successfully expands adapted clamping units: ER-ready driven units. Compatible with any standard ER collet chuck, and any ER turret adapted clamping unit – Solid ER collets in sizes ER25, ER32, and ER40

These products are more rigid than standard spring-style ER collets, which enables heavier cuts. They have a more compact design, which minimizes the interference on smaller machines. They have a one-millimeter standoff for more clearance on bigger end mills with an accurate ground-locating boss for minimum runout. TACU can be used with internal and external coolants with up to 12,000 rpm for specified driven tools. It is compatible with seven major brands of CNC lathes and bolt-mounted turrets and VDI turrets with varied driven and static blocks.
