Therefore, iwis, the Munich-based chain manufacturer, has extended its chain-related portfolio by a novel, service-oriented product. The new Chain Lubrication Application (CLA) lubrication method provides lubricant permanently to the chain drive and other parts to confirm a long chain service life with complete accuracy, cleanliness, and economy.
The inhouse R&D department of iwis focused on maintenance in the new system with the goal of extending the service life of the chain through good lubrication. The high-performance material is used to produce the special applicator, which is a reservoir from where tiny amounts of lubricant are passed to the chain drive at the required points. This environment-friendly, green remedy minimizes expenses and the probability of plant equipment contamination.

The CLA pumps are integrated into the machine’s PLC or operated separately with time control. Because its size is compact, retrofitting is not essential. The pump pressure is 70 bar for all the 16 lubrication points. Valuable lubricant is not wasted and the system is not contaminated. The special applicators are manufactured from PU foam in varied designs and are very strong.
