igus has introduced new accessories for its E4Q energy chain series, designed to simplify the installation of hoses and corrugated tubes. The new additions include a specialized outer link for guiding hoses in parallel and a hose clamp to securely fasten them, addressing common challenges in the safe management of hoses and cables in industrial environments.
The E4Q series, known for its lightweight, bionically inspired design, is used for reliable cable guidance in unsupported and long travel applications. The new outer link, now part of the E4Q series, features a guide channel that accommodates PMA clips, allowing for the easy and fast installation of PMA corrugated tubes. Previously tested in the E4.1 series, these links support hose diameters from 17mm to 48mm, ensuring flexible and secure hose management.
In addition, igus has launched the SHM.60 hose clamp, designed to guide hoses with diameters up to 60mm, ideal for applications such as dust extraction in woodworking. The clamp attaches to the outer link and supports easy fitting using hook-and-loop strips or cable ties.
“Our new clamp enhances the versatility of the E4Q series, providing reliable support and protection for cables, tubes, and hoses,” said Phillip Hagedorn, Product Manager for e-chains at igus GmbH. “We’re also developing an extension link that will allow customers to increase the capacity of their energy chains to handle more cables.”
igus specializes in motion plastics—high-performance polymers that operate without lubrication. Based in Cologne, Germany, the company leads the global market in energy supply systems, flexible cables, bearings, and tribo-polymers.
