Many users around the world rely on Fanuc motors and control systems in the machine tool industry. Igus has developed a highly flexible servo cable to reliably supply energy to the drives while they are in motion. It’s been created with dynamic applications in mind. The cable features an oil-resistant PUR jacket, UL certification, and a 36-month UL-verified, certified guarantee.
A servo cable connects the machine to its drive and propels it forward. As a result, it is critical in mechanical engineering. It must be fail-safe, highly flexible, durable, and oil-resistant when used in an energy chain, as well as meet a wide range of standards and certifications for use in the global market. The CF270.UL.D cable cross-sections from igus were designed for use in e-chains and work with drives from 24 different manufacturers.

For the I Fanuc motor series, igus has added a new cable design with (6G1.0)C to the series. “We have over 20 different chainflex cable ranges specifically for the machine tool industry,” says Katharina Esch, igus GmbH’s International Chainflex Cable Product Manager. “Because a growing number of machine builders use Fanuc motors, we developed a cable specifically for them, one that can withstand harsh environmental conditions as well as high movement speeds and accelerations.”
The CF270.UL.10.06 has a PUR outer jacket that is oil and coolant resistant, DESINA-colored, and 1000V UL AWM-certified. Igus guarantees a service life of up to 36 months for all of its 1,350 cables, as it does for all of its 1,350 products.
Up to 18 million strokes can be handled by cable
The chainflex cable lasted 18 million strokes in test 4831 at igus’ 3,800-square-meter in-house laboratory in Cologne. Its service life in a specific application can be determined for free using an online service life calculator. The new Fanuc cable is available from igus either by the metre (one-metre minimum) or as a ready-to-connect readycable harnessed with a suitable connector. The user can use igus’ readychain service to get a ready-to-connect energy supply system that includes e-chain, cables, and connectors.
