FPT Industrial launches Stage V Compliant New Model Marine Engines

  • FPT Industrial is a leader in the design, production, and sale of powertrains for vehicles, marine, and power generation applications
  • The power unit is for the heaviest-duty commercial missions and generates 170 hp at 2000 rpm and 1105 Nm torque at 1000 rpm engine
  • With this launch, FPT Industrial expands the global marine segment including 8 models and power outputs from 85 hp up to 1000 hp.

FPT Industrial introduced a new model in the family of marine engines for pleasure and commercial applications. The launch was done at a global digital platform called “Marine Virtual Experience”. The highlight of the launch was the new C90 170 Stage V dedicated to heavy-duty performance and the keel cooling system, a cooling technology for engines operating in variable water conditions. The latest offering FPT Industrial expands the global marine segment including 8 models and power outputs from 85 hp up to 1000 hp.

N40 250 E Keel Cooling

The power unit is for the heaviest-duty commercial missions and generates 170 hp at 2000 rpm and 1105 Nm torque at 1000 rpm engine. The unit is applicable for passenger transport, cargo or floating equipment vessels, etc. operating in rivers and lakes. FPT Industrial is a leader in the design, production, and sale of powertrains for vehicles, marine, and power generation applications.

The C90 170 Stage V holds type approvals from the main international regulatory authorities. For Stage V standard compliance, FPT Industrial was focused on fuel map optimization instead of relying on after-treatment system. With N40 170 Stage V, FPT debuts in marine range expansion. In its standard configuration, it is designed to deliver up to 250 hp at 2800 rpm for European recreational boats.

Fabio Rigon

The second highpoint of FPT Industrial “Marine Virtual Experience” was the introduction of the keel cooling system adopted on the N40 250 E, N67 450 N, and N67 570 EVO. The cooling system meets the challenges and needs the needs of customers operating in brown and shallow waters. Placed along the keel or incorporated into the hull itself and being in constant contact with water, the system can efficiently transfer heat between the coolant and the water.

“‘Do something for tomorrow starting today, this is the spirit that has always driven our brand,” says Fabio Rigon, FPT Industrial Vice President Europe. “And that has led us to expand our product portfolio introducing new and sustainable marine engines, together with specific technologies, such as the keel cooling system, aimed at fulfilling the needs of people operating in particular and harsh conditions.”

The event was the chance for FPT Industrial to show the Cursor X marine configuration concept video. The purpose was to present the company’s focus on alternative propulsion. “We offer customers tailor-made solutions for their needs,” states Braden Cammauf, Head of FPT Industrial Brand Nafta. “With keel cooling system we are ready to support those who work in sandy, muddy or shallow waters with the most up-to-date and competitive services”.
