Vargus, a global leader in threading, grooving, and milling solutions, made a powerful impact at IMTEX 2025 with its latest innovations and live demonstrations. The event, held at the Bangalore International Exhibition Centre, provided the perfect platform for Vargus to showcase cutting-edge tooling solutions designed to enhance productivity and efficiency.

Visitors to the VARGUS India booth were treated to live demos of the company’s cutting-edge products, including the award-winning MACH TT thread turning tool, which took center stage. The MACH TT revolutionized thread turning, completing jobs in fewer passes, significantly reducing cycle times, and boosting overall productivity. “The MACH TT insert delivers more than two times faster machining than conventional tools, offering unparalleled efficiency,” explained a VARGUS expert during the demo.

In addition to the MACH TT, VARGUS showcased its comprehensive range of advanced solutions designed for a variety of industries. The V-Taps and ST-Cut tools demonstrated superior threading efficiency, while the V-Mill and V-Drill solid carbide series impressed with their high-performance capabilities in milling and drilling applications. The V-Whirling solution highlighted VARGUS’s leadership in thread production, offering a state-of-the-art alternative to traditional methods.

One of the standout innovations was the VARGUS GENius™, the intelligent tool selector and CNC program generator. This cutting-edge software supports threading applications across multiple processes, enhancing accuracy and efficiency in machining operations. “The VARGUS GENius™ empowers manufacturers to select the right tools and create optimized CNC programs with ease, making it an invaluable asset for precision machining,” said Rahul Patil, Managing Director of VARGUS India.

Eli Daniel, Technical support engineer of Vargus Ltd, introduced visitors to the Groovex family, specifically highlighting the VG-Cut system for parting-off operations. “Our VG-Cut system excels in chip control, eliminating long chips and ensuring a smooth cutting process without the need for CNC program packing. We offer both internal and external solutions, with indexable inserts that allow for easy holder changes,” he explained. A notable addition was the tangential knurling system, developed specifically for EV shaft knurling applications.

Another standout innovation was the Microscope tool series, a revolutionary solution for Swiss-type machining. “With our Microscope tools, we can achieve a minimum bore diameter of just 1mm, and with a chip breaker solution, we go as low as 1.5mm—something unmatched by any competitor,” Eli added. The precision and efficiency of these tools drew significant interest from visitors at the stall.

Expanding beyond threading and grooving, Vargus introduced its V-Mill and V-Drill solid carbide series, designed to elevate machining efficiency. “We’ve launched our V-Drill and V-Mill product line, focusing on high performance, consistent tool life, and repeatability. Our drilling tools now offer 3xD and 5xD overhang options, starting from 1mm up to 20mm. In the coming weeks, we will introduce 8xD and 12xD variants with internal cooling,” said Etay Sharabi, Milling and Drilling Product Manager from Vargus Ltd.

For milling applications, the V-Mill line includes tools ranging from 0.01mm to 20mm in diameter, tailored for various materials like aluminum, titanium, inconel, and hardened steels up to 65 HRC. “Our goal is to provide cutting-edge solutions with optimized cutting conditions, ensuring our customers achieve superior machining results,” Etay emphasized.

The highlight of Vargus’ showcase was its award-winning MAC thread turning insert, which recently won the German Innovation Award 2024. “The MAC TT insert is a breakthrough in thread turning technology. Unlike conventional tools requiring 10-12 passes for a 1.5 ISO pitch, the MAC insert completes the same job in just 5-6 passes, significantly enhancing productivity. We’ve reinforced the substrate, optimized the cutting edge, and improved manufacturing processes to extend tool life and boost efficiency,” a Vargus expert explained. Live demonstrations at the Vargus stall showcased the MAC ET and MAC TM solutions, comparing them with traditional thread milling processes. The results were remarkable: external threads that typically required 10 passes were completed in just 5, while internal threads saw cycle times cut from 16 seconds to just 8. “Even without a cooling system, our tools maintain high performance, ensuring longer tool life and superior results,” the team demonstrated.

Discussing Vargus’ presence in the Indian market, Rahul Patil the Managing Director of Vargus India expressed his enthusiasm for IMTEX 2025. “The energy at IMTEX is incredible! Our live demonstrations and new product innovations have been receiving tremendous interest. With a strong presence across India, we are committed to supporting customers nationwide with game-changing technologies that improve cycle times and reduce costs,” he said. Rahul also highlighted his recent recognition in the ’24 of 2024′ list, an achievement that underscores his leadership and contributions to the industry. “Receiving this honor is truly humbling, and it reinforces our commitment to driving innovation and excellence in manufacturing,” he added.

VARGUS’s dedication to innovation extends beyond traditional machining solutions. Their new approach to Gear Milling presented a competitive alternative to conventional Hob systems, streamlining gear manufacturing with tailor-made inserts and toolholders. This innovation is set to revolutionize the industry by offering enhanced flexibility and precision.

“We are thrilled with the response at IMTEX 2025,” said Rahul Patil. “The energy, enthusiasm, and interest in our products reaffirm our commitment to pushing the boundaries of innovation. Our solutions are designed to empower manufacturers to achieve superior performance, and this event has provided a fantastic opportunity to engage with industry leaders and showcase our advancements.” VARGUS also proudly highlighted its recent achievement of the German Innovation Award 2024, which recognizes their continuous efforts to advance machining solutions. This prestigious award further underscores VARGUS’s role as an industry pioneer.
