FERRO TIGER is a brand of material handling equipment from Mysore. Their factory is located in a 2.5-acre plot with a 50,000 sq. ft. of built-up area. They manufacture lifting and handling equipment for every kind of manufacturing, production, and storage situation and are meant to promote ergonomics at the workplace so that workmen reduce injuries that arise typically out of unnecessary stretching, bending, turning, lifting, and similar movements that induce strain and muscle-related injuries to the body. Their main exhibit at the IMTEX 2022 exhibition at BIEC Bengaluru from 16 to 21 June 2022 consisted of an elevating dock with a turn table.
Ferro Foundries Private Limited is in the field of material handling equipment since 1974. It’s known more by its popular product name, the Ferro Tiger. They have an integrated facility with all processes in-house including metal cutting, metal fabrication, equipment assembly & painting. The fabrication and machine shop are equipped with CNC metal cutting, Laser Cutting, CNC Shearing, CNC Bending, Vertical Machining Centers, CNC turning centers, and Welding machines. These take care of practically all their manufacturing and production needs in-house with only the final product leaving the plant.
At IMTEX 2022 which happened at the Bangalore International Exhibition Centre in Bengaluru from the 16th of June, 2022 to the 21st of June, 2022, they presented their famed Elevated Dock with turntable, pallet truck, and Reach Up stacker. All their products are ideally meant to increase a worker’s efficiency by reducing manual efforts involved in picking, reaching, and shifting. To this end, their Elevating Docks are heavy-duty, rugged, and of robust construction that aims to provide a simple yet genuinely efficient solution for loading and unloading material, be it from vehicles or places, and stack them in ways that are efficient in every sense.
With just the push of a button, their “loading bay” evens out the difference between a loading bay and a vehicle which enables smooth movement of material to or from two different places. Add to that their ramps that eliminate the sliding of material between two places (vehicle to warehouse in most cases) and drastically reduce material wastage due to accidents. The cargo lift which is also the loading bay assists in loading and unloading from vehicles into or out of warehouses. The turn-table on top of the scissor lift is made of a 5mm checkered plate with a stroke range of 1200mm to 1800mm with an electro-hydraulic lip option with infinite positioning with push-button control. It helps turn around heavy loads for correct loading or unloading without labor fatigue.
The other product from Ferro Foundries’ stable was their “Reach Up”, a compact push-around mobile aerial work platform that’s truly efficient and effective. It can easily pass through standard doorways and elevators, can also navigate with ease in tight spaces, and can elevate a person with tools up to a working height of twelve meters. All with just the touch of a button. It has wheels with an in-built battery and its own charger and can be used for overhead installations and maintenance, ceiling fixing, repair and changing of lights, electrical wiring, AC duct installation, assemblies, maintenance of machines, maintenance of EOT cranes, fixing of banners, aircraft maintenance, and overhead housekeeping. The list of its uses is restricted only by one’s imagination! The product launch by Ferro at IMTEX ‘22 was dedicated to products that promote ergonomic applications, especially at heights.
Parikshith P. L, their Sales Manager was present at their stall and in an exclusive interview with Machine Maker said, “We are a material handling manufacturing company located in Mysore since 1974. We have been manufacturers for almost 48 years and this year we dedicate our stall to ergonomic equipment at heights. Our Cargo Lift comes with a rotary table used for backing up in ergonomic applications with the help of a pallet truck, Reach Up, and a few other products are also present at the display. This ergonomic-furthering equipment is made with the purpose of having the operator handle equipment without any bending.”
