Lata Vasisht’s Plans for Future Industry Impact:
Lata completed her MBA on 2013 ,then she completed her M.Phil, from Bharathiyar University, Chennai, and after that she did her Ph.D. on the Impact of Emotional Intelligence on Leadership Effectiveness at the same university. By the time she finished her MBA, her husband Mahesh Vasisht had started his business of servicing domestic air condition appliances.
In 2017-18, while traveling abroad, Lata Vasisht noticed HVLS fans that grabbed her attention. Upon returning, she introduced these fans to their business. Customers began inquiring about the fans, and seeing the interest and high demand, they decided to start manufacturing them. Initially, the fans were expensive and not well-suited for the Indian market. However, after two years of R&D, they developed a fan weighing only 100 kilos and reduced the price from 5-6 lakhs to 1.75 lakhs.
Lata Vasisht, a woman of great strength and vision, leads Aadhya Airtek, a green startup in the industrial fan industry. Under her leadership, Aadhya Airtek has not only overcome the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic but has also set a new standard for innovation and sustainability.
Initially, they had only one type of fan based on induction motors, which made noise because of the gearbox. Slowly, they have introduced fans with PMS Motors and BLDC Motors that do not make noise as they are gearless. In Karnataka, they are the first movers and the only company manufacturing these fans. They plan to open branches across India. Their one of the significant milestones was the development of a fan that weighs only 100 kilos, reducing the weight by half. This innovation has had a significant impact on the industry, making their fans more accessible and affordable. They are also recognised as the Top 10 Industrial Fan Manufacturers in India, 2023 by Industry Outlook.
Their initial vision was to address the gap in the market for efficient and affordable industrial fans. They wanted to create a product that not only met the needs of their customers but also set new standards in the industry. They aimed to reduce the dependency on expensive imported products and offer a high-quality, cost-effective alternative. Over time, this vision expanded to include a strong focus on sustainability and innovation, making Aadhya Airtek a key player in green and lean manufacturing.
Mrs Vasisht also shared that “Our immediate vision is to expand pan-India and in the next 5 years we aim to go global. We are making every effort possible to establish a presence in every major city and become a household name in the industrial fan market.” Their plan to expand their product range to include new technologies and features. This includes the development of WPC fans and the incorporation of IoT features. They have already introduced remote based and touch based operations. Their goal is to provide our customers with the most advanced and efficient solutions available.
