igus GmbH, a true pioneer in the world of motion plastics, is gearing up to make a big splash at the highly anticipated Hannover Messe 2023! As an industry leader in innovative polymer solutions for motion and energy management, igus is set to captivate attendees with its cutting-edge products and groundbreaking technologies. Under the motto, “enjoyneering”, which translates to unleashing the engineering power with play, igus is set to increase the simplicity of low-cost automation with apps, metaverse and new cobots at the Hannover Messe 2023.
igus GmbH, one of the global leader in motion plastics organised their global media interaction on 14th of February 2023. While speaking about the significant goals of igus, CEO Frank Blase said, “ Decarbonisation and reducing CO2 are mega topics. For igus, recycling circular economy is one major element of decarbonisation”. As a prime example of their dedication to sustainability, Frank unveiled the igusbike, showcasing igus GmbH’s commitment to recycling and sustainability. He proudly announced that the company had manufactured the entire bike using consumer plastic waste, emphasizing its unique feature as an embodiment of their sustainability goals.
Frank Blase also discussed some new features of the igus Go App. The app simplifies the process of identifying potential motion plastic solutions for machines with just a picture. Using AI and augmented reality, users can easily capture a picture of their machine. The app will analyze the image and provide instant suggestions on igus products that similar devices have successfully installed. With augmented reality visualization, users can easily integrate igus motion plastic products into their machines for quick and efficient process.
Besides this, igus also unveiled its new lubrication-free material, igutex TX3 fiber wound material, which is ideal for heavy-duty applications. The igutex TX3, a plain bearing from igus, underwent extensive testing in both indoor and outdoor conditions at the igus test laboratory in Cologne. The tests showed outstanding performance values of up to 100MPa in pivoting applications with Cf53 hard chrome-plated shafts. These standard product range now includes fibre-wound plain bearings with inner diameters ranging from 20 to 80 millimetres. Custom-made options for additional diameters are also available upon request.
igus GmbH Showcases New Innovations in Motion Plastics and Low-Cost Robotics at Hannover Messe 2023
Intending to make automation and robotics affordable and accessible, igus also launched its new cobot- – the ReBeL KID. “Our motto is to make robots cheaper and affordable, and how do we do that? We use motion plastics, and also moulding parts, drilling parts and software too are in-house at igus. Alexander Mühlens, Head of the Business Unit Low-Cost Automation at igus, introduces the latest addition to their Robo family, “Robokid”.
In addition to low-cost robotics, igus expands the range of intelligent plastics by equipping standard parts with sensors and integrating them into IoT networks. This allows SMEs to implement industry 4.0 trends, such as condition monitoring and preventative maintenance, in addition to low-cost robotics. With a new service called “superwise,” the igus field service team can digitally expand the capabilities of the smart plastics.
Also, for the first time, igus will take people who are somewhere else to the trade show stand in Hannover. Interested parties can book a so-called Remote Scout online. The igus experts equip data glasses and transfer the latest motion plastics products and solutions to the web browser on a PC, smartphone or tablet in 30 minutes. Interested parties see 1:1 what the igus scouts see. They can demonstrate everything as if it were an on-site appointment, with both hands free.
igus GmbH has two booths at the Hannover Messe 2023, in Hall 6, Stand E26 and Hall 17, Stand E26, where they are set to showcase state-of-the-art innovations in motion plastics. The speakers at the webinar urged the customers to visit their stalls and participate in this exciting endeavour. Also, igus GmbH develops and produces motion plastics. These lubrication-free, high-performance polymers improve technology and reduce costs wherever things move. Igus is the global leader in tribo-polymer-based products, including cables, bearings, and lead screw technology for energy supplies. The family-run company based in Cologne, Germany, represents itself in 31 countries and employs 4,900 people across the globe.
