In a special interview with Machine Maker, Rohit Galgali, the Director of Pranshu Electricals Private Limited, shared insights on their anticipated participation in this premier industrial exhibition, happening from April 22-26, 2024.

Pranshu Electricals, renowned for its innovative approach to motor technology, is carving a niche in the world of customized design and manufacturing of magnet DC motors. “Our motors are integral to defense applications, and we have supplied motors to significant projects,” Rohit revealed, highlighting Pranshu Electricals’ contribution to national defense and its significant presence in this demanding sector. As Pranshu Electricals continues to innovate, the company has also explored the concept of frameless brushless DC motors. “These are direct drive application motors, which have a very good market in Europe and the USA,” Galgali pointed out, indicating the global demand for these advanced motor solutions.
In the spirit of diversification and meeting the global demand for innovative motor solutions, Pranshu Electricals has embarked on exciting new innovations, “We have also started manufacturing of induction motors,” Rohit Galgali, shared talking about company’s expansion into new product lines. This strategic move is aimed at catering to the needs of international markets, particularly in Europe and the USA. “Most of our services will be like contract manufacturing for white labeling services for customers in Europe and the USA,” Rohit explained. The cost challenges associated with the manufacturing of certain induction motor components, which can be labor-intensive. “Usually the cost of manufacturing might not be very cost-effective in those areas,” he noted, highlighting the competitive advantage of leveraging India’s manufacturing capabilities.

To ensure the highest standards of quality and compliance, Pranshu Electricals has meticulously adopted international certifications. “We provide the manufacturing in India with all the standard certifications like CSA, UL, which are mandatory for us to entering and succeeding in the stringent markets of Europe and the USA, affirming the company’s commitment to meeting global quality and safety standards”, shared Rohit. The introduction of such cutting-edge technology signifies Pranshu Electricals’ commitment to staying at the forefront of motor design and application. “The market is getting up, picking up traction, and we are getting good inquiries out of that. Pranshu Electricalshas taken a pioneering leap into the future of motor technology, particularly with the development of frameless brushless DC motors—a venture that began earnestly in the 2020s. “We started exploring the product more aggressively,” Galgali recounted, detailing the journey from concept to creation. By 2021, Pranshu Electricals had not only developed a range of these motors but also established a partnership with a UK integrator, marking a significant milestone in their global outreach. “What they do is they procure our motors, then they procure the drives and other electronic configurations from different parties and then they do an integration and then they offer it to the customers,” Rohit Galgali explained. This synergy has led to the creation of a product that not only meets but exceeds customer expectations, particularly in applications demanding high torque and precision, such as robotic arms and gimbals.
One of the standout features of these motors, as highlighted by Rohit, is their ability to eliminate the need for a gearbox. “It will deliver high torque at a very low speed, which will eliminate the gearbox and also give a very stiff output,” he noted, emphasizing the benefits of reduced maintenance and enhanced control over applications. The compact design further allows for a smaller, more efficient setup, challenging traditional motor and gearbox configurations. Feedback from the integrator’s customers has been overwhelmingly positive, with many expressing satisfaction with the performance and efficiency of the motors. “So now they are coming up with good feedback, and now we are getting many customers giving positive feedback about the motors, and now we are getting good inquiries and also orders too,” Rohit shared, signaling a promising future for Pranshu Electricals’ innovations.
In addition to frameless brushless DC motors, Pranshu Electricals is also making strides in the induction motor market, particularly focusing on the European and US markets’ demand for premium efficiency. “Europe, USA, they have norms of premium efficiency. They are more sensitive towards efficiency, so more higher efficient motors,” Rohit mentioned, highlighting the shift towards more sustainable and efficient motor solutions. With India’s market gradually recognizing the importance of higher efficiency motors, Pranshu Electricals is well-positioned to meet this growing demand, both domestically and internationally.
Pranshu Electricals to Debute at Hannover Messe
Pranshu Electricals is charting a new course in its journey of innovation and global exposure, making a strategic pivot in its exhibition strategy. “This is the first time actually that we’ll be participating in Hannover,” revealed Rohit Galgali, marking a significant milestone for the company. Despite a decade-long history of showcasing at SPS Nuremberg, where Pranshu Electricals has been a regular fixture, exhibiting induction motors, PMDC motors, and frameless BLDC motors, the decision to shift focus comes with a vision for the future. The transition to Hannover Messe 2024 is driven by a change in product line priorities, with a newfound emphasis on induction motors and frameless stock motors. “But since we have changed the product line, now majorly we’ll be focusing on induction motors and frameless stock motors,” Rohit explained, sharing the strategic move to align with market demands and opportunities.
The choice of Hannover Messe over SPS Nuremberg is a calculated one, rooted in the broader audience and the diverse industrial focus of Hannover. “We found that rather than moving into SPS Nuremberg, it will be more helpful if we exhibit our products into Hannover,” Rahul noted, highlighting the potential for reaching a more suitable demographic for their latest product innovations. Hannover Messe, known for its expansive industrial reach, offers an ideal stage for Pranshu Electricals to introduce its induction motors and frameless BLDC motors to a global audience.
Galgali and his team anticipate that the wider, more diverse exposure at Hannover Messe will open new doors and create opportunities in sectors beyond automation and robotics, where their new product lines can shine. “So probably we will get more customers from there from Hannover,” he added optimistically, looking forward to gaining traction in the induction motors and frameless BLDC markets. “We are very excited to be participating in such a big event,” Rohit shares, reflecting the enthusiasm that permeates the entire team. “Expectations are very clear that we want to do business with the European market and American market where we will be manufacturing induction motors in bulk,” Rohit elaborates.
