As the COVID19 pandemic continues to torment countries thereby bringing global business to a staggering halt. Over the last 2 years, multiple projects have since been rescheduled or postponed. In a recent statement, Deutsche Messe AG announced the new dates for Hannover Messe which was initially scheduled for April 2022, rescheduled to end of May 2022, considering the safety and security of exhibitors and visitors.
In a recent statement, Deutsche Messe AG has stated that it will stage the world’s leading trade show for industrial technology Hannover Messe from 30 May to 2 June. The decision has been taken with close cooperation of Hannover Messe exhibitory advisory board and partner associations VDMA (Association of German Mechanical and Plant Engineering), and ZVEI (Central Association of German Electrical Engineering and Digital Industry).
In the statement to the media, Dr Jochen Kockler CEO of Deutsche Messe AG stated that the raising concerns with regards to the COVID19 Pandemic in Germany and other neighbouring countries have forced to reconsider its decision to conduct the Hannover Messe in April 2022. Previous trends were also considered and it has been observed that the summer months were touted best for major events during the pandemic, and the new dates were announced for the world’s biggest industrial show from 30th May to 2nd June 2022.
Another major change is the number of days the expo will be running during 2022. Hannover 2022 shall run for 4 days due to the Hannover Exhibition Center’s full event calendar in June. In the year 2023, Hannover Messe will resume its normal five-day schedule in April. Hannover Messe 2022 focus on digitalization and sustainability which is expected to stimulate innovative and effective approaches to foster better production and climate protection.
Encouraging the decision VDMA General Manager Thilo Brodtmann stated that the postponement of the event is a timely measure taken up to allow the vaccination rate to increase. He also stated the later date also increases the probability of a bigger audience both nationally and internationally which shall benefit everyone. Addressing the importance of the event for the industries around the world, Chairman of the ZVEI Management Board, Wolfgang Weber stated that Hannover Messe is one of the world’s most important industrial showcases for various companies and that it is definitely in the interest of a climate-neutral circular economy.
