During September 2019 Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal announced installing more than 2 Lakh LED street lights in the national capital under 'Mukhyamantri Street Light Yojana'. The measure was to light up the dark spots which will also ensure safety especially for women who travel in the night. Three discoms of Delhi were given the responsibility to install 70,000 street light each with Delhi joining the LED revolution in the country.
Responding to the government announcement, the industry is coming together at LED Expo New Delhi 2019, which witnessed complete sold out all of its stalls. The exhibition is all set to open for business visitors in the national capital region from the 14th of November 2019. Organized by Messe Frankfurt Trade Fairs India Pvt Ltd the 21st edition of LED Expo for three days and LED Summit on 15th November is to be held at India Expo Centre & Mart, Greater Noida. The exhibition will witness 350 exhibitors from nine countries including India.
China, Hongkong, and Taiwan will have an exclusive country pavilion in this edition with UAE, Korea, Japan, Finland and Italy displaying their latest LED innovations for smart energy efficiency solutions. Indian multinationals like Tata Communications, Osram Opto Semiconductor, MLS India, Millennium Semiconductor, Juki India, Cresent Opto Ahmedabad, Glow Green, Componix India, Edison Opto, S R Electro, and Murli lights will be some of the major players at the show.
