Mehta CAD-CAM, which is participating in Engimach 2021 hopes to bring awareness to Indian companies to start using robotic technology to upgrade their product, be cost-effective, be more productive and save manpower. They are also gearing up to be at IMTEX 2022 with many of their metal cutting and robotic innovations.
Indian multinational Mehta CAD CAM Director Shailesh Mehta which is participating at Engimach 2021 hopes to cash in on the Chinese situation and supply quality fibre laser cutting robots and MIG welding machines since they can provide quality technology at a much lower cost than from China.

Shailesh Mehta talking exclusively to Machine Maker said Indian companies who are buying from the Chinese have started coming to his company to buy spare parts since Chinese machines being produced are of lower quality and duplicate parts are being used to bring down their prices. Transportation from China to India have gone up by three to four times after the pandemic, thus making it very expensive to buy from China. “To stay competitive, the Chinese are using duplicates”.
To combat the pricing challenges now some of the Chinese companies are using locally made LM guides, which does not last long, using low-cost components, informed Mr Mehta.
Shailesh Mehta said that at Engimach 2021 Mehta CAD CAM has displayed two robots which is the need of the hour for industries manufacturing processes and for mass production, high speed and accuracy.
“The two robots we have displayed here one for metal inert gas (MIG) welding and fibre laser cutting for objects, not just sheet (sic). Many people are suffering due to a lack of welding technology. Laser fibre metal cutting machines have aesthetic looks”.
Mr Mehta said there used to be a problem of welding a 0.5mm and 0.6 mm of stainless steel thin sheet which has now become easy for cutting using the laser machine. “We have also used 6kw fibre laser cutting machine”.
He said Mehta CAD CAM has supplied more than 500 fibre laser technology machines over the last five years.
Shailesh Mehta said the price of the product has come down due to mass manufacturing, and they are high speed, finished cut machines and help people to improve productivity and affordability.
Mehta CAD CAM is the oldest and largest manufacturing company for fibre laser cutting machines.
He further added that at Imtex 2022, Mehta CAD CAM will display more robotic machines. “I move around the world. Developing countries with much smaller economies like Brazil, Vietnam we see robots there, but here there are no robots. This means a gap in thought by Indian companies. They are not ready to adapt to the latest technology and thereby lose opportunities. They think robots are expensive and they don’t have the experience to know that robots can be helpful to them”.
Mehta CAD CAM will try to bring this change at IMTEX, we will bring awareness, time can be saved, manpower costs can be saved, he added.

Shailesh Mehta said that Mehta CAD-CAM is offering a wide range of products for diversified manufacturing applications. “We have four verticals: CNC router machines, digital printers, Co2 laser equipment, soft material focus, and a full range of fibre laser machines. We want to show many technologies”.
Mr Mehta said Engimach is the second largest engineering exhibition in India, and for Machine Tools just behind Imtex and this is a great achievement for Kamleshbhai Gohil. Engimach is happening after two years due to the pandemic. “We have spent a lot of time on new development. These kinds of exhibitions always help us to show our new products, we wish more people would visit and see our technologies”.
