Keepsake Automation at ENGIMACH: ‘Made-in-India’ Control Systems for Welding Machines

Keepsake Automation, headed by Manan Bateriwala, are the first indigenous manufacturer of control system architecture for Welding and Cutting machines. Their control systems are enabled with Industry 4.0 and IoT setup.

The Ahmedabad-based start-up, Keepsake Automation LLP is the first global manufacturer of control systems for welding special purpose machines. Their control system for cutting machines is direct competitor of a manufacturer based out of China.

The three year old start-up is part of the i-Hub Incubation Centre, a Government of Gujarat initiative. The i-Hub Incubation Centre is having a special booth for start-ups at the ENGIMACH exhibition.

In an interview with Machine Maker, Manan Bateriwala, Founder of Keepsake Automation said, “There is no one in the industry who provides control systems for welding. This is where Keepsake Automation comes into picture. If you want to standardize your own welding SPM, you can fit our control system, which is a PC-based setup, into a control panel”.

He said “You will have the convenience of screen similar to that of a robotic screen and you can programme it with high level commands. These commands can be process independent to work with MIG, TIG, Plasma as well as Laser Welding. This saves the time and effort of machine fabricators, manufacturers of devising their own control systems”.

“ENGIMACH has proven to be a huge platform for the Indian manufacturing industry, and it is helping in visibility for start-ups like ours. I would like to thank the organizers of ENGIMACH as well the Government of Gujarat for giving us a voice through this exhibition”, said Mr Bateriwala.

The welding and cutting domain in general is a four billion dollars market. The Indian welding industry has been manual and conventional till date. When the welding industry talks of modernizing and upgrading, new technology and equipments are required. This is where Keepsake Automation would play a key role, from the ‘Make-in-India’ perspective, in helping the local businesses to upgrade and modernize.
