EMO 2023, the premier trade fair for the global manufacturing industry, is just around the corner, set to take place in Hanover from 18 to 23 September 2023. This biennial international event serves as a launching pad for innovations, critical discussions, and forging new business partnerships within the sector.
Under the theme “Innovate Manufacturing,” EMO offers a unique opportunity to explore the latest technological trends in manufacturing, specifically those aimed at accelerating production modernization processes. European manufacturing companies face numerous challenges in international competition today. However, by leveraging digitization, including artificial intelligence, robotics, and automation solutions, significant strides can be made to ensure sustainable competitiveness.
HSD, a leading provider of mechatronic solutions, will showcase its cutting-edge offerings at the EMO fair in Hannover (Hall 12, Stand A16). The event will be an exclusive platform to unveil the new ES1020 and ES1040 electrospindle models, designed to complement the ES10 Line. These advanced electrospindle models, a result of continuous collaboration between HSD’s engineering team and their customers, are highly adaptable to meet the diverse needs of users and the ever-increasing pace demanded by today’s market.
In line with the future trends of digitization and Industry 4.0, HSD will also provide a sneak peek of a special “connecting device” that can be installed on their range of electrospindles dedicated to metalworking. This device enables seamless integration with the myHSD IoT platform through a series of sensors.
The connecting device, developed by HSD, aligns with the event’s central theme of “innovating manufacturing.” It enhances production processes by making them more efficient and effective, leading to increased productivity, improved quality, and minimized errors and machine downtime.
While the myHSD platform was previously available only for the ES9Line of electrospindles used in wood and plastics processing, it has been expanded to include metalworking electrospindles. The platform provides customers with various benefits, such as reduced maintenance costs, real-time data analysis for valuable insights into electrospindle usage, and essential information for research and development, facilitating process improvements and optimized maintenance through timely notifications and troubleshooting wizards.
myHSD monitors the electrospindle’s condition using innovative e-Core sensor technology. Combined with algorithms on the platform and the connecting device, it delivers prompt notifications to the user regarding necessary replacements, maximizing machine uptime. The patented HUB function allows seamless transfer of information from the machine tool to the platform, including process data, statistical values, and the machining center’s status. This empowers operators with a comprehensive overview of the entire system, enabling in-depth analysis and reducing potential financial losses.
“The installation of the connecting device on HSD electrospindles dedicated to metalworking provides a golden opportunity to leverage high-performance capabilities,” highlights Massimiliano Sanna, HSD Product Director. Connecting the electrospindle to the myHSD platform enables real-time monitoring of the spindle status during machining operations, combining performance with remote data transmission.
HSD’s technological solutions embody the Industry 4.0 revolution, streamlining processes and enhancing their customers’ competitiveness in the market.
Filomena Carletti, Marketing Manager at HSD, expresses the company’s excitement for EMO 2023, stating, “Once again, EMO serves as a valuable global showcase for HSD, allowing us to demonstrate the practicality of the technologies we develop. Our stand will showcase numerous cutting-edge technologies, coupled with the expertise of HSD’s technical and sales staff, enabling visitors to find concrete solutions and address their daily industry challenges.”
