Burning of stubble over Punjab & Haryana, and the increase of pollution levels in Delhi was headlined in national media, which forced the Supreme Court of India to put a ban on such activities and impose fine. In the recently concluded Boiler India 2020 Exhibition at CIDCO Navi Mumbai, ISGEC exhibited boilers, which can, not just dispose of the waste, but produce energy from it. Indian Sugar and General Engineering Corporation (ISGEC) Heavy Engineering Limited is perhaps an all too familiar name that is synonymous with general and heavy engineering industries as well as the Indian capital goods industry.
ISGEC participated in the Boiler India Expo 2020 displaying an array of services and products unlike any other. Machine Maker spoke to Niranjan Shastry, Senior Vice President Marketing, ISGEC Heavy Engineering Limited and brings you the inside story of the company and their participation in the Boiler India Expo 2020. ISGEC is one of the oldest companies in India having founded in the year 1933 as Saraswati Sugar Syndicate Ltd. In 1946 the company was renamed Indian Sugar and General Engineering Corporation (ISGEC) Heavy Engineering Limited in order to address the need for the Indian capital goods industry.
ISGEC entered into an agreement with John Thompson Ltd, the UK for manufacturing boilers in 1959, and since then it has established itself as one of the premier high-pressure boiler manufacturers in India and has also expanded itself to numerous capacities in general engineering, heavy engineering, and capital goods industries.
