Nevertheless, Ashwini Engineering Industries is here to turn the tables not only with their products and services but also with their sheer determination and strong will to thrive in the boiler industry. We spoke to G Sridhar, Founder & Partner, Ashwini Engineering Industries (AEI) and brings you the exclusive story.
Ashwini Engineering Industries is a boilers and boiler components manufacturer based out of Tiruchirapalli, Tamilnadu, India. The company is a part of ARK Engineering & Power Consultants Private Limited, a dealer in the power plant consultancy and boiler detailed engineering services. AEI was founded with the leverage of a strong design base from its vast experience in the consultancy service.
Founded and Promoted by four technocrats who worked extensively in the design-related capacities for leading boiler manufactures, AEI is specialized in manufacturing boilers (IBR & Non-IBR), boiler components, high-pressure steam piping, fuel handling, and general fabrication
Ashwini Engineering Industries is spread across 4 acres of land and facilitates a 2300 sq. ft single bay shed along with a 4000 sq. ft work shed and a 1500 sq. ft shed for bending. The company currently has about 70 employees with 4 design engineers and 10 design assistants. AEI houses state-of-the-art machines, which help in manufacturing top-of-the-spec boilers and boiler components.
About the entrepreneur journey, Sridhar said: “We all four were involved in designing of boilers working for leading boiler manufacturers till 2005, and started a consultancy firm by the name ARK Engineering”. He adds, “Initially we started designing boilers and the proficiency of the design-led our customers encouraging us to venture into the manufacture and deliver fully finished boilers”.
Sridhar said that in 2016 the company obtained a license to manufacture boilers and since then AEI has supplied different types of boilers for various industries such as paper, sugar, chemical, steel (wastage recovery systems), etc. In the last three and half years of AEI’s operation, it has manufactured and supplied about 60 boilers ranging from 3 tph to 50 tph to a list of customers such as BHEL, GE Triveni, Vedanta Group, Emami Papers, KG Denim, Ambuja Cements, Vinati Organics, etc, and he expressed that as a company they are taking baby steps in the boiler industry.
Talking about the challenges faced by the boiler industry, Sridhar said that since the boiler industry is dependent on the end-user, designing and manufacturing of new boilers and projects is a challenge and has slowed down
