Rattan Power Press, a pioneering company in the power press industry, has been setting benchmarks since its inception in 1965. With headquarters in Ludhiana, Punjab, and additional offices in Pune, Delhi, and Chennai, Ratan Power Press has a robust presence across India.
Power presses are machines used to cut, mould, and shape materials, primarily in the electronics sector and utensils manufacturing. Rattan Power Press specializes in high-speed machines that deliver precision and efficiency, ensuring high-quality output.
The company, directed by Govind Singh, the third generation in the family business, continues to thrive by adapting to market demands and technological advancements.
Despite his educational background in international business and graduation from the USA, Govind Singh chose to join the family business back in India. Speaking to Machine Maker, he explains, “The most challenging part for me was to understand the product and its market because it was from the engineering field. But as the third generation in the family business, I decided to take on this challenge.”
Ensuring Efficiency in Cost & Energy
Rattan Power Press operates with a cost-effective business strategy, focusing on the reuse and resale of products at lower prices based on customer demand. The company imports components from countries like Taiwan, Germany, and Italy to maintain high-quality standards. While some products are manufactured in India, others are imported and then sold domestically, ensuring the best quality at competitive prices.

However, the company follows a no-compromise policy when it comes to energy efficiency. Speaking to Machine Maker, Mr Singh highlighted the energy efficiency of their machines. “Our machines use less electricity compared to others, and we provide upgraded electric motors, although they come at a higher cost.” Rattan Power Press not only serves clients across India, especially in industrial hubs like Chennai and Pune, but also exports to countries like Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and South Africa.
Future Outlook :
With a legacy spanning over six decades, Rattan Power Press remains committed to maintaining high standards of quality and service. “We always maintain our quality and standards, offering the best services and pricing,” said Mr Singh.
Looking ahead, Rattan Power Press aims to develop new mechanisms and products, offering high-quality solutions at lower prices. Mr Singh emphasized, “Our vision is to manufacture the same quality products in India to reduce costs,” he added.
