As construction activity across India accelerates—driven by highways, housing, mining and industrial infrastructure—equipment purchase decisions are becoming more frequent, higher value and increasingly complex. For many contractors, owners and operators, the buying process still comes with uncertainty, whether it is choosing between an excavator and a backhoe loader, deciding between one large machine or multiple smaller units, evaluating new versus used purchases, or assessing leasing options, financing and insurance.

In the absence of structured and unbiased guidance, many buyers are forced to rely on incomplete information, often resulting in decisions that later prove costly. DesiMachines.com was created to close this gap. Launched in February 2025, the platform has completed one year as an independent digital destination focused on construction equipment and heavy engineering machinery. It aims to help buyers evaluate equipment options based on clarity and usefulness rather than sales influence.

The concept was shaped by founder Saurav Agarwal, who drew on more than six years of on-ground experience across construction equipment dealership operations, including sales, aftersales, spare parts and dealer management, along with his background in running a marketing agency.

Saurav Agarwal, Founder and CEO, DesiMachines, said the central concern remains the same across buyers and locations, and that major equipment investments should be made with confidence and proper understanding. Over the past year, DesiMachines has grown organically to more than 25,000 monthly users, with over 600 buyers each month using the platform for machine discovery, comparisons and access to buying, financing and insurance options. The platform allows users to explore equipment across brands, compare models and specifications, and identify machines suited to specific job requirements, without pushing a particular manufacturer.

The company clarified that it does not sell machines and positions itself as a neutral discovery and decision-support platform, encouraging buyers to consider multiple options before selecting what fits best. DesiMachines has onboarded multiple OEMs, dealers and equipment financiers and is nearing breakeven, reflecting early confidence in a scalable model.

The platform was developed with strategic and digital support from PromotEdge and continues to evolve alongside the agency, leveraging experience across construction equipment, heavy engineering and industrial B2B categories. PromotEdge and its global arm PromotEdge Digital have supported clients across industrial and consumer sectors, including Veedol Lubricants, Dozco Australia, Weichai Engines, Xtreme-Media, LedX Technology, Doctors’ Choice and others, with work spanning digital architecture, positioning and long-term brand narrative.

Looking ahead, DesiMachines plans to introduce AI-supported machine discovery, expand coverage into mining and material handling, and build tools that help buyers assess lifecycle costs and return on investment more accurately. After completing one year, the platform aims to complement industry relationships by strengthening decision-making with structured information.
