Infineum, a global specialist in lubricant and fuel additives, has entered into a strategic framework agreement with Rianlon Corporation, a specialty chemicals manufacturer headquartered in Tianjin, China. The collaboration combines Infineum’s global formulation expertise and market reach with Rianlon’s component manufacturing capability and regional supply strength.
The agreement was signed shortly after Rianlon marked the groundbreaking of a new component development and manufacturing facility in Johor, Malaysia, highlighting the pace and intent behind the partnership. Infineum said the alliance is designed to address growing complexity in global trade and geopolitical conditions by improving regional supply continuity, logistics efficiency and cost competitiveness across China and the wider Asia-Pacific market.
Chris Locke, Sustainable Transportation EVP at Infineum, said the goal is to offer customers the combined strengths of both organisations—Infineum’s product quality and global capability supported by Rianlon’s speed, cost efficiency and operational scale in component manufacturing. He added that integrating Rianlon’s regional supply capacity into Infineum’s global network will support customers in delivering high-quality lubricants while maintaining cost discipline.
Henry Li, Chairman of Rianlon Corporation, said the agreement aligns the company with a global leader and enables both sides to contribute complementary strengths. He noted Rianlon’s progress in technology development and broad component coverage, along with its advantages in capacity planning, operating efficiency and production management. Li said the partnership has the potential to help shape a stronger and more sustainable lubricant industry model in China.
Aldo Govi, CEO of Infineum, described the partnership as a major step toward building a more regionally self-sufficient additive supply chain, aligned with Infineum’s global supply strategy. He added that Rianlon’s technical and manufacturing capability in China, along with its Asia-Pacific expansion plans, makes it a strong fit for Infineum as both companies adapt to a rapidly evolving market environment.
