SYIL CNC UK Ltd will present a comprehensive showcase of machining centres, cutting tools and automation solutions at Southern Manufacturing & Electronics 2026, taking place at the Farnborough International Exhibition Centre. Exhibiting on stand E185, SYIL CNC UK will display four machines from its expanding portfolio, all equipped with tooling supplied by TaeguTec UK Ltd. The centre of attention will be the newly redesigned X5 and X7 vertical machining centres, which represent a significant update to the SYIL range.
The revised machines feature improved ergonomics, updated styling and refined mechanical design, while retaining the rigid construction and value proposition for which SYIL is known. Enhancements include smoother door operation, optimised swarf evacuation, a larger 12-inch Siemens control interface and improved operator visibility.
Live machining demonstrations will run on the X5 and the larger X9 machining centre, using TaeguTec’s latest high-feed milling tools. These include the Chase4Feed system, which uses four-corner BLMP inserts designed for high-feed applications. The insert geometry supports efficient facing, shoulder milling, ramping and cavity machining, achieving cutting depths of up to 2 mm while maintaining surface quality.
Also on display will be TaeguTec’s WINMILL shoulder milling range, featuring advanced carbide inserts and V-shaped pocket designs for improved clamping strength and stability. The tools incorporate high rake angles and optimised cutting edges to reduce cutting forces and improve chip evacuation. TaeguTec’s solid carbide TEO and TED drilling tools will also be demonstrated.
A key automation highlight will be the X7 machining centre equipped with SYIL’s robotic loading system powered by KUKA. The R1 tending system uses a 16-station pick-and-place configuration to enable unattended machining and increased spindle utilisation.
Completing the display is the L2 turning centre, a two-axis CNC lathe with bar feed and a 12-station turret. This machine will demonstrate TaeguTec’s WINCUT triangular parting-off system, which delivers high rigidity and repeatability through a three-point insert contact design and integrated bottom stopper. Through-tool coolant delivery directs high-pressure coolant precisely to the cutting edge, extending tool life.
Together, SYIL and TaeguTec will demonstrate how machine design, tooling and automation can be combined to deliver immediate productivity gains for UK manufacturers across a wide range of machining applications.
