Shakti Pumps (India) Limited, a leading manufacturer of energy-efficient pumps and motors, has announced that it has further received a new work order from Madhya Pradesh Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (MPUVNL) for the supply, installation, and commissioning of 1,952 Stand-alone Off-Grid DC Solar Photovoltaic Water Pumping Systems (SPWPS). The order has been awarded under Component-B of the Government of India’s flagship PM-KUSUM (Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha evam Utthaan Mahabhiyan) scheme and will be implemented across the entire state of Madhya Pradesh.
This new order reinforces Shakti Pumps’ strong presence in the renewable energy and solar pumping segment and reflects the continued trust placed by state nodal agencies in the company’s proven technological capabilities, execution strength, and product reliability. The project aims to provide sustainable, clean, and cost-effective irrigation solutions to farmers, particularly in off-grid and remote areas, thereby reducing dependence on conventional power sources and diesel-based pumping systems.
Under this work order, Shakti Pumps will supply high-quality DC solar pumps integrated with advanced solar photovoltaic modules and controllers, designed to deliver optimal performance even under varying sunlight conditions. The systems are engineered to support agricultural irrigation needs while promoting water conservation and energy efficiency. The deployment of these solar pumping systems is expected to contribute significantly to improving farm productivity, lowering operational costs for farmers, and enhancing rural livelihoods across Madhya Pradesh.
Component-B of the PM-KUSUM scheme focuses on the installation of stand-alone solar-powered agriculture pumps to enable farmers to access reliable irrigation without grid electricity. By supporting the transition to renewable energy, the scheme plays a vital role in reducing carbon emissions, promoting sustainable agriculture, and strengthening India’s clean energy ecosystem.
Shakti Pumps has been an active participant in the PM-KUSUM scheme across multiple states and continues to expand its footprint in the solar water pumping market. With a robust manufacturing base, in-house R&D capabilities, and an extensive service network, the company is well positioned to execute the project within stipulated timelines while adhering to the highest quality standards. This order further strengthens Shakti Pumps’ order book and underscores its role as a key contributor to India’s renewable energy transition and sustainable agricultural development.
