After the strong reception of its debut edition, the second UTECH India – Sustainable Polyurethane & Foam (ISPUF) Expo 2025 has officially begun at the Bombay Exhibition Centre, NESCO, Mumbai. Organised by Media Fusion and Crain Communications, the three-day event (November 13–15, 2025) brings together advanced polyurethane, foam, and mattress technologies at a time when India’s demand for high-performance and eco-friendly PU solutions is rising rapidly. The expo features live demonstrations, global expertise, and technology showcases aimed at accelerating innovation across construction, automotive, comfort manufacturing, and insulation sectors.

The opening ceremony welcomed leading figures from the industry, including Sanjay Gupta (IFCOMA), Ketan Sheth (IIID-MRC), Jaiprakash Bhatia (BAI), Amiet Barot (AFMT), Abasaheb Kale (PDK ASM Consulting), Vikas Dhameja (Starlon), Gaurav Sachdeva (Chemie Products), Mahesh Bangad (AESA), Ankur Chopra (Isha Textiles), and Jayant Khadilkar (Jay Elastomers). Their presence underlined the essential role polyurethane and foam now play in shaping sustainable building systems, mobility solutions, energy-efficient infrastructure, and modern comfort applications.

India’s polyurethane foam market stood at USD 4.0 billion in 2024 and is projected to reach USD 7.1 billion by 2033, with demand driven by the furniture, bedding, and automotive sectors. Lifestyle changes, design-driven consumer behaviour, and sustainability expectations are pushing industries to adopt more efficient materials. Government programs—including the Energy Conservation Building Code (ECBC) and Smart Cities Mission—are further encouraging the use of PU-based insulation and sandwich panels, which can deliver up to 40% energy savings, making them attractive for India’s rapidly growing real estate and infrastructure sectors.

Industry leaders highlighted the opportunities ahead. Abasaheb Kale stressed the growing shift toward fast, dry construction techniques and the central role of metal sandwich panels in meeting new government mandates that require 25% prefabricated components in upcoming projects. Sanjay Gupta pointed to India’s expanding global footprint with innovations such as hybrid and nano-structured release agents across footwear, mobility, and construction sectors—areas that will experience accelerated growth due to lightweight materials and sustainability targets.

According to Taher Patrawala of Media Fusion, UTECH India has become a crucial meeting point for the PU and foam ecosystem, especially as polyurethane panels see increasing adoption in warehousing, cold storage, and logistics—segments growing at more than 15% annually. Matthew Barber of Crain Communications noted that the event continues to advance collaboration and knowledge exchange, aligning closely with India’s broader goals of energy conservation, responsible manufacturing, and sustainable industrial expansion.

UTECH India 2025 presents the complete range of polyurethane and foam innovations, thermal insulation solutions, flexible mattress technologies, and new-age materials. With expert talks, networking opportunities, and a dedicated Sleep Expo Pavilion, the event provides a comprehensive platform for stakeholders across the value chain to explore the future of energy-efficient and sustainable PU-driven applications.
