Addverb, a global pioneer in robotics and automation, has joined hands with leading Indian academic institutions including IITs, NAMTECH, and NIIT Neemrana in Rajasthan to establish Centres of Excellence (CoEs) dedicated to robotics innovation, smart automation, and skill development. Through this initiative, Addverb is providing access to its cutting-edge technologies—such as collaborative robots (cobots), autonomous mobile robots (AMRs), automated guided vehicles (AGVs), shuttles, and its quadruped robot Trakr—to help bridge the gap between academia and industry.
These CoEs, focused on smart and physical AI, are being set up at subsidized costs to make advanced robotics education more accessible to students and researchers. The Centres will serve as innovation hubs for research, intellectual property creation, and hands-on learning, giving students the opportunity to work directly with real-world automation systems currently used in global manufacturing and warehousing environments.
“At Addverb, we believe true innovation thrives where academia and industry collaborate,” said Sangeet Kumar, CEO and Co-founder, Addverb. “Our partnerships aim to nurture the next generation of robotics engineers, strengthen research excellence, and support India’s emergence as a global leader in intelligent automation.”
Under this collaboration, Addverb will facilitate joint R&D programs, support capstone projects for B.Tech and M.Tech students, organize internships and industrial training led by Addverb professionals, and mentor student-driven innovation projects. The company also plans to introduce early robotics awareness programs in schools to inspire young learners to explore science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) fields.
Aligned with India’s Special Interest Group (SIG) initiatives, these collaborations reinforce Addverb’s mission to build a robust technology talent pipeline. The company’s open innovation efforts are reflected in its AddverbAI platform, which enables researchers to experiment with real-world automation through select open-source codebases.
The impact of these partnerships is already visible—students from IIT Gandhinagar recently presented late-breaking research papers at the IEEE RAS Humanoids and the Conference on Robot Learning (CoRL) in Seoul, South Korea. By creating strong academic-industry linkages, Addverb continues to empower future innovators, advance India’s robotics ecosystem, and support the nation’s journey toward becoming a global hub for intelligent automation.
Founded in 2016, Addverb designs and manufactures end-to-end robotics and automation solutions for industrial and warehouse environments. With headquarters and manufacturing facilities in India, and R&D centers in both India and the United States, the company operates subsidiaries in Australia, Singapore, the Netherlands, and the U.S.
Its diverse product range includes Autonomous Mobile Robots, Sorting Robots, Automated Storage and Retrieval Systems, and advanced picking technologies powered by enterprise software. Addverb serves more than 350 global customers including Unilever, Nestlé, ITC, Marico, DHL, and Lenskart, optimizing operational efficiency, accuracy, and productivity through its smart automation solutions.
