Goodluck India Limited, a prominent engineering group, announced that its subsidiary, Goodluck Defence & Aerospace Limited, has secured an industrial license under the Indian Arms Act, 1959. This approval authorizes the manufacturing of a wide range of medium-caliber artillery shells in major categories, including 105mm, 120mm, 125mm, 130mm, and 155mm. Under the 155mm category, the license covers high-explosive shells such as HE M107, ERFB, ERFB BB, and ERFB BIT.

The company’s defence arm is set to begin trial production in the third quarter of FY2026, with a planned capacity of 150,000 shells annually at its advanced facility. Full-scale operations will follow shortly after. This development marks a significant step forward for Goodluck in India’s growing defence manufacturing sector, aligning with the national vision of increasing indigenous production under the Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative. Strong interest from both domestic and global buyers is already underway, and the company plans to expand capacity further in response to projected demand. This manufacturing license positions Goodluck Defence as one of the few private players authorised to produce such artillery systems in India.

In a parallel development, Goodluck India Limited has entered into a tripartite Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with BrahMos Aerospace Thiruvananthapuram Ltd (BATL) and Axiscades Technologies Ltd to jointly participate in the Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA) program initiated by the Aeronautical Development Agency (ADA), Bengaluru. The consortium has formally submitted an Expression of Interest (EOI) and will combine their expertise across engineering, systems integration, electronics, and manufacturing to support India’s next-generation fighter aircraft project.

Commenting on these developments, Mahesh Chandra Garg, Chairman of Goodluck India Limited, stated
“Receiving this license for artillery manufacturing is a strong endorsement of our engineering strength and ongoing commitment to excellence. We are proud to be among a select group contributing to India’s defence capability. Our involvement in the AMCA project reflects our dedication to advancing indigenous aerospace capabilities and supporting India’s strategic goals. These milestones are not only business achievements but also contribute to building a stronger, self-reliant nation.”
